Dear Families,

Thank you for registering for coming school year!  We are looking forward to welcoming you in September.

firstnightOur first session will be on September 11.  Both parents and children will meet in the church at 6:15 PM for an opening prayer service.  Students will find out their class assignment when they arrive that evening.

While the students leave for class, there will be a short program for the parents.

tuitionIf you have not yet paid tuition for St. Emily, please note three options:
  • You can, of course, pay in full any time between now and the opening night.  We accept checks, or you can pay via eGiving;
  • You can choose to pay half of your tuition by the beginning of classes, and then pay the balance at mid-year.  You may also do this by check or via eGiving;
  • The easiest option is to set up a monthly payment via credit card or bank draft in eGiving. Please set up the payments so that they are completed by April 1.
St. Thomas Becket families should pay at your parish.  Contact Renata Sosin if you have questions.

If you are a new family (or even if you are returning), you might want to take a look at our Family Handbook.  It will answer many of your questions.  The menu on the Family page also guides you to the calendar and other useful information.

Of course, please let Cathy Crino know if you have other questions not answered there.

Vacation Bible School
July 22 to 26

There is still time to register.  Our ship will sail for Athens soon!

Join us in ancient Athens, as we meet St. Paul and the early church there.  VBS is a grand adventure exploring the Scriptures, the culture and art, food and crafts, science and games of the Greek world.   Check out the last few years of fun.

Rising Kindergarten through fifth graders can  register here.

Rising sixth graders through adults are  welcome to volunteer.
catechistFind out about becoming a catechist

We strongly urge you to consider becoming a catechist or assistant for the coming year.

We have openings in first and third grades, as well as an opening for an assistant in eighth grade.

What do you receive from being a catechist?
  • Wit. One of the best things about kids is that they are funny and they will let know it. (Of course, you already know that.)
  • Keep your own wits sharp. You might get a work out, but you'll feel good about it. (You might know this, too.)
  • Learning more about your faith. There is no better way to uncover what you really believe and what the church teaches than to try to explain it to an inquisitive kid.
  • Support.  We won't send you in there without some training, opportunities for continuing formation and good materials and ideas to get you started.
  • Compensation. Besides the fun and challenge, catechists receive the first $300 off their tuition.
All the catechists in the program have given their time and talent to teach your children as volunteers. Becoming a catechist yourself is a wonderful way to give back.
