Thank you so much for subscribing to A-DOG's Wags and Tags newsletter. We hope you are enjoying it! We're reaching out now because our records indicate that you receive Wags and Tags but are not registered as an A-DOG member. We hope that you will consider joining A-DOG as part of our pack!*

Whether you decide to join or not, no worries! We still will send you Wags and Tags . But, all who support our mission are welcome to be members, whether you have a dog or not, whether you live in Arlington or a nearby community. If you care about a dog-friendly Arlington, we welcome you to our A-DOG pack!

A-DOG is all-volunteer. Donations, including membership dues, fund A-DOG’s community service educational, recreational, and social programs. Note, too, that we also have an Associate Member option that is dues free.

$20.00 (1 yr) Member-Household (full benefits)
$35.00 (2 yr) Member-Household (full benefits)

  • Associate member (no dues but you will be an A-DOG member and will receive membership mailings).

We can really use your support so hope you will consider either a full membership or even an optional donation of any amount at all. Every bit helps us to bring free events of interest to those who love dogs.

Who we are & what we do!
May 2008, A-DOG was established.
A-DOG's mission includes promoting responsible dog ownership and advocating for the rights and interests of Arlington dog owners.

A-DOG Provides :

  • Successful advocacy leading to off-leash recreational activities for dogs in Arlington. Off-leash morning hours (since 2010) & fenced dog park at Thorndike Field (since 2012).

  • Educational programs as a free community service including: Canine First Aid/CPR (coming soon, Thurs, March 28, 6:30–8 pm at the Arlington Senior Center), Understanding Dog Body Language, “Prison Pups" film screening, Coexisting with Wildlife, Care of Senior Pets & Palliative Care (a second one is planned…stay tuned!), and more...


  • Fun local community & recreational activities including: A-DOG’s Town Day booth, Bark For Life team, Marching in Arlington Patriots Day parade, HOWL-O-Ween party, DOG Days At The Res with Arlington Recreation, and more...

  • Monthly email newsletterWags and Tags with "Paws for Calendar" calendar of events, focus features on issues, information & resources, member highlights, friends of A-DOG business profiles, and more... Members are encouraged to contribute articles or suggest topics. 

  • Membership/board meetings (5 per year) with potluck dinner

  • Friends of A-DOG businesses offering discounts/promotions for full members

  • Collaborations with local partners such as Arlington Community Media, Inc. (ACMi), Robbins & Fox Libraries, Arlington Animal Control, Arlington Recreation, Arlington Public Art, Arlington High School DOG Enthusiasts Club and other groups and allies in surrounding communities for special programs and to address other topics of interest.


A-DOG Wants you in Our Pack and hope you will consider a full membership. It is easy to do. We need your financial support to continue offering educational, recreational, and social programs and bring new exciting opportunities to our community of dog owners, other pet owners and others who love animals. Your involvement & support are needed to keep Arlington an inviting and inclusive community for all, including our canine family members!
