Greetings!

Yesterday, June 20 th , marked the anniversary of World Refugee Day, which was established nineteen years ago by the United Nations to raise awareness for all refugees. On this day, we especially recognize the courage, strength and determination of the women, men, and children who are forced to flee their homeland under threat of persecution, conflict, and violence. To do our part, Child Foundation has been involved in helping refugees by providing emergency assistance, especially within projects that deal with children.

Over the years, Child Foundation has helped support many organizations that are fighting to better the current refugee crises. There are countless examples in which refugees have needed help (and still do) because of their country’s dire circumstances. For instance, the Syrian refugees that needed to flee to Europe, or the hundreds of Afghans who suffered during their internal refugee crisis when they were escaping the Taliban. The list can go on and on, which is why June 20 th is necessary and important. This day raises awareness to the suffering of people who must leave everything behind in order to seek a safe place, where they can hope to live and prosper. If you would like to us with our efforts to aid refugees, please donate to our emergency fund here .

In addition to the refugee crises, there are many other emergencies that need our help. Our colleagues from our sister foundation in Iran are working hard at registering children and families who have lost everything they had in the flood, so we can support at least 1,000 families for six months. So far, we have received 205 applications in Pol-Dokhtar (Lorestan), 410 files in Agh Qala and Gomishan (Golestan) and over 100 in Ahvaz (Khuzestan). We started payments to 148 students and their families and paid 70 Million Toomans for housing needs of Ahvazi students who had lost everything they had and all of their belongings in flood.

We will provide further detail of our operation soon. To help these families, please donate generously here .

With gratitude,

Thanks to You, I Have a Home Now!
Two weeks ago, in our newsletter , we informed you about the dire conditions of three girls who have become homeless with their families. We started a “Housing Fund” for them and asked you to participate.

We would like to update that one of the girls has moved to an apartment that the local Child Foundation office found and rented for her. Many thanks to the kind donors and although we have yet to reach our goal donation amount, we will help move the other two families to their new housing soon.

We invite you to aid us in reaching our goal by donating to our Housing Fund here .

Going to School, in Loving Memory of Hanieh!
In October 2018, Hanieh passed away after a battle with Breast cancer. Her friends and family, in Denver and other cities, decided to keep her memory and name alive by providing a place in Sistan Bluchestan, where children in need can have a safe place to study.

Through a Facebook fundraiser, as well as a page on Child Foundation’s website , we were able to collect enough donations to purchase a conex and deliver it to Shaker girl's School. Now, a group of female students every day see Hanieh’s name as they enter their classroom and thank her and Hanieh's friends for their generosity in providing them with this safe, secure place to study.

Return to Sender!... :-(
We have always encouraged our sponsors to contact their sponsored children and every week, we receive many letters and birthday cards from our kind donors who request that these be delivered to their children. Unfortunately, we must inform everyone that the U.S. post office is no longer accepting letters to Iran; therefore, we cannot continue to forward letters to your sponsored child(ren).

We will, however, continue our services and ask you to kindly: scan and email your letter to our office with the name and file name of your children so we can forward it to our local office. They will then print and deliver your letter to your child.

We are sorry for the inconvenience! To send the letters to your child(ren) in Iran, please use our general email here .
