What makes this year our best year ever? You, of course!

,

You did it! Because of supporters like you, 2016 was EVLT's best year ever. We've raised more funds for our mission, collaborated with more partners to leverage our conservation work, and conserved three great new properties. From Dewey Park's Colorado River splendor, to our newest project conserving the beautiful entry to Walking Mountain Science Center (read more below), your donations and participation at our signature events help sustain EVLT as we conserve more of our favorite places... forever.

The Walking Mountains entry is now permanently protected by EVLT.

One of the the most rewarding parts of this work comes from partnering and collaboration with peer organizations and funding partners to leverage conservation dollars. Many thanks to  Eagle County Open Space for their collaboration and funding of these projects. There are many partners whose contributions are immensely important to each unique project.

We're working hard to preserve more of our Eagle Valley landscapes in 2017. Together, we are all making a difference.

Sincerely,
Jim Daus

EVLT Collaborates with Walking Mountains Science Center
...and  Helps
Facilitate $2.1M in Project Funding

Did you know that the beautiful entry meadow at the Walking Mountains campus in Avon was not conserved? That gorgeous campus and its tranquil creek could have been forever and irreparably changed by future development.

On December 21, 2016, after years of planning and fundraising, Walking Mountains Science Center and the Town of Avon donated conservation easements totaling nearly 100 acres, permanently protecting the meadow, creek and surrounding lands for the benefit of the public and all future generations to enjoy...forever!

EVLT helped facilitate approximately $2.1M in funding from Eagle County Open Space and anticipated state tax credits to help Walking Mountains conserve the land.

"EVLT's expertise really helped us successfully conserve the land," commented Walking Mountains Executive Director, Markian Feduschak.

EVLT owes special thanks to Walking Mountains Science Center, Eagle County Open Space, and the Town of Avon for their collaboration on this amazing community project.
