Village Hall is currently collecting food donations for Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Food Bank. The late Harry Chapin, a former resident of Huntington Bay, founded Long Island Cares to alleviate hunger on Long Island. We kindly request your support in making a difference in the lives of those on Long Island facing food insecurities.


Food donations are being accepted at Village Hall through Friday, November 17th!

A collection bin is located on the porch of Village Hall.


Listed below are the most requested items, however, ALL non-perishable foods are accepted. ONLY boxes, cans or plastic are accepted. 

NO GLASS and no expired items. 

Most needed items:

  • Cereals 
  • Oatmeal
  • Pasta
  • Rice (Brown/White)
  • Low Sugar/No Sugar canned fruits
  • Canned Soups/Stews/Pastas
  • Canned Proteins (canned chicken, tuna beans etc.)
  • Canned Vegetables 
  • Condiments, Spices, Olive Oils & Sauces 
  • Shelf-Stable Milk 
  • Toilet Paper, Tissues & Paper Towels 
  • Baby Formula, Food & Snacks 
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly 
  • Fruit Juices
