Important Info About Checking Out of Residence Halls for Thanksgiving Break

Residence Halls on both campuses (including University Heights College Suites) will close for Thanksgiving break at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, and reopen at 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 1.

All students are required to check out of their rooms for the duration of the break unless they have applied for and received approval to remain on campus during part or all of the break.

If you require on-campus housing for any portion of Thanksgiving break, please complete the Thanksgiving Break Housing Application as soon as possible. Your request will be reviewed by a member of the Residence Life staff and you will be informed of the decision via email.

As the housing contract does not cover break housing, if you are approved to stay over the Thanksgiving Break, the fee is $75 and will be applied to your student account.

From IT: Congratulations to Cybersecurity Quiz Winners!

As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we hosted a cybersecurity quiz designed to test participants’ knowledge of best practices for staying safe online. We are excited to announce the winners and congratulate them!

Student winner: Amelia Conlon

Staff winner: Sarah Hunter

Faculty winner: Marisa Beeble

All participants demonstrated knowledge in the areas of online security, password protection, phishing prevention, and more. By taking part in this quiz, we strengthened our understanding of how to protect ourselves and others from cyberthreats.

Why cybersecurity matters: As cyberattacks become more frequent and sophisticated, it’s essential for everyone to stay informed and vigilant about security. Whether it’s creating strong, unique passwords, enabling multifactor authentication, recognizing phishing scams, or safeguarding personal and sensitive information, we all have a critical role to play in ensuring online safety.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the quiz! Your engagement in Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an important step toward building a safer digital environment.
