Over the last 6 months, Minnie's Food Pantry has seen first hand the implications COVID19 has had on our community, specifically the growing number of families seeking assistance for basic life necessities such as FOOD. Last month alone, Minnie's Food Pantry distributed 566,547 meals to 30,717 individuals right here in North Texas! For perspective, in 2019, Minnie's Food Pantry sent out a total of 1.4 million meals throughout the year. This year, as we approach North Texas Giving Day, we are hoping we can count on you to #GetUpAndGive and help us continue our mission of providing healthy meals, educational resources and red-carpet treatment to every person in need. With every dollar donated, Minnie's Food Pantry will be able to provide 3 meals to a family in need and that makes all the difference in the lives of those struggling to find their next meal!

North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local nonprofits like Minnie's Food Pantry!
Minnie’s Food Pantry and Albertsons and Tom Thumb ’sNourishing Neighbors are teaming up to ensure every child in our neighborhood has access to a healthy breakfast. When you visit any of the Albertsons and Tom Thumb locations below and donate to the campaign at checkout, the funds will go directly to Minnie’s Food Pantry! EVERY child deserves access to healthy meals. EVERY DAY. And your donation will help us continue to provide for the children here in North Texas in most need of healthy meals!
Nourishing Neighbors, a charitable program of the Albertsons and Tom Thumb Foundation, is working to eradicate childhood hunger in America. With 1 in 7 children in America not knowing where their next meal will come from, the funds raised through September 30th will be dedicated to local efforts that ensure every child has access to a healthy breakfast.
Each year Minnie’s Food Pantry hosts an annual Thanksgiving giveaway where volunteers and community sponsors come together to distribute complete Thanksgiving meals (including a turkey and all the trimmings) to families who would otherwise go without in North Texas. Last year over 2,100 families benefited from our annual Thanksgiving Giveaway and this year, with the uncertainties of COVID19 and the detrimental impact it has had on our clients, along with our commitment to Plano ISD and McKinney ISD we are anticipating that number to grow.

As we sit down to carve our turkeys and eat our mashed potatoes and corn bread with loved ones, remember the families who are less fortunate and unable to celebrate the holidays without our help! Every person deserves a hot meal and every family should be able to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones! That is where YOU come in!!
