Message from the Executive Director...

As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, the word "thanks" takes on a distinctive meaning. In today's fast-paced society, we can so easily forget to say "thanks" or to show our appreciation to those with whom we interact. This is an ideal time however, to pause and reflect on simple civilities such as saying "thank you." Such a small phrase speaks volumes in demonstrating our appreciation for each other. As the philosopher Voltaire said, "Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well."

At Wilton Library Association, we would like to thank all of our loyal Friends, supporters, volunteers and patrons. We truly appreciate all you do to keep this library flourishing. We also greatly appreciate your kind comments and civilities - they mean so much to our staff! Together we'll continue to make Wilton Library the place where people come to enrich their lives, connect with others, become informed and get inspired. Thank you!

During the upcoming weeks, we invite the community to enjoy all that awaits you at Wilton Library beginning with the Holiday Stroll where refreshments and warmth await strollers and shoppers. Come take advantage of our Holiday Book Sale with wonderful items for all. Our Giving Tree, Giving Gelt, and Art Show also offer unique gifting opportunities.

Our Annual Appeal takes place this time of year whereby your donations of any size help us to continue our mission of providing the books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and digital resources that you use. Additionally, your contributions support the wide variety of excellent programming that is offered at the library.

On behalf of the staff and the trustees, thank you for your generous support and we say "thanks" to your "giving" in whatever ways it comes to Wilton Library. Wishing you the very best this Thanksgiving and throughout the coming holiday season.

Elaine Tai-Lauria
Executive Director
