Happy Thanksgiving
A message from Father David +

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let's remind ourselves what this day truly represents, I offer some quotes from folks you may know. Most of all it is the wish of Debbie and me that you feel truly blessed in your lives knowing that you are always loved by God. And as we follow our Lord Christ in loving others, God gives thanks for you. May you all have a great day of food, sports, fellowship, fun and rest!

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.   Oprah Winfrey

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.  William Arthur Ward

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.   William Arthur Ward

To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go. Your prayer knows much more about it than you do.   Victor Hugo

Gratitude is the inward feeling of kindness received. Thankfulness is the natural impulse to express that feeling. Thanksgiving is the following of that impulse.   Henry Van Dyke

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for
the loving care which surrounds us on every side. We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us. We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone. Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life
again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know him and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things.   Amen.
