holidays is now open.

Our Havana fruitcakes, almond stollen, and Guinness Stout chocolate cakes are now available for ordering and we will start shipping these items on Monday, December 4. Place your orders now and select a delivery date anytime in December—we ship anywhere in the United States. Our Havana fruitcakes, having been made in September and soaking for months in rum, are limited in quantity, so when they’re gone, that’s it until next year.

Important: PLEASE choose Thursday as the latest day of the week to receive any order needed before a weekend; if you select a Friday and there’s a slight UPS delay, your items won’t be delivered until the following Monday. Weather may delay delivery; plan ahead. All items freeze well.

For Thanksgiving orders

Except for the fruitcake, stollen, and Guinness cake mentioned above, all other items (Shenandoah apple cakes, mincemeat pies, pecan pies, cranberry muffins, coffee cakes, and much more) will ship as soon as you’d like. Please note that we do not ship during Thanksgiving week while we are focused on making pies. For Thanksgiving orders, select Thursday, November 16 as your delivery date—all items freeze well. We make a lot of items, including many pie varieties, but are able to ship only those shown on our shipping site. For Thanksgiving pie orders to be picked up at our Marshall or Warrenton store, see below.

Local pickup for Thanksgiving and Christmas, including Thanksgiving pie ordering

For local orders that will be picked up at our Marshall or Warrenton, Virginia, stores, we ask that you use our new ordering app for local pickup orders. We are now taking pickup orders for Thanksgiving pies. Make sure you are ordering at the location where you will be picking up; we are unable to move orders back and forth between the two stores. We cannot accept realtor or corporate bulk orders, including pies, for the week of Thanksgiving.

Our Traditional Mincemeat Pies

My dad loved this pie and, after many queries, we make this year-round. It’s full of apples, raisins, golden raisins, and an easy hand on the spices. We now import British vegetarian suet; the taste difference is imperceptible and the mouthfeel is exactly the same. We love it and vegetarians do, too. It keeps everyone contented—even the cows. The pie is finished with brandy and topped with smoked bourbon sugar from our pals at Bourbon Barrel Foods in Kentucky. We bake our pies in a metal pan; it’s a great gift and serves 8.
