Take note of what I’m wearing. I made a new wrap over Easter weekend with three striking, but underused scarves that basically collected dust in the closet. I always liked those big, juicy lips, but could never give away nor donate the scarves. Can you relate? Mary Mulari gets the full credit for my scarf wrap binge. By the time you receive this newsletter, I may have made another “stylish” wrap.  

On May 12–14th, I’ll be vending in Beaver Dam, WI at the Nancy Zieman Weekend. See details below. Rita and Mary are reviving their popular Midwest YaYa Sisters performance. This week I’m dipping my toes into the public by taking a trip to AQS Quilt Week Show in Paducah KY. I don’t have a role there, except to meet up with stitch buddies known and unknown. Needle Point:
Determine Needle Size with Rhonda’s 80/40 Rule
The most popular thread used for all types of sewing, quilting, and crafting is a 40 weight thread. When using a 40 weight thread, use a size 80/12 needle.

If using a thread finer than a 40 weight, use a smaller needle size such as 70/10.

Micro threads use needle size 65/9 or 60/8.

Again, using a 40 weight thread with a 80/12 needle as a benchmark, if using a heavier thread, move up at least one needle size.

If using a 30 weight thread, use a needle size larger than 80/12. Use size 90/14 or larger.
