Earlier this year, we were contacted by a public television series called EMPOWERED, hosted by Meg Ryan, highlighting childhood cancer and the work we do at Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

Our segment called, “No One Fights Alone” has aired on CNBC and has covered 400+ regions through placements on Discovery.

For September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we created, designed, and executed a digital 360-degree campaign called #MoreThan4.

#MoreThan4, spanned across social media platforms, featuring jarring statistics that supported our push to sign a public petition urging Congress to allocate more federal funding to childhood cancers. We brought the campaign to life with an in-store fundraiser in collaboration with Little Words Project and bold digital billboards that hit six major cities, creating an unmissable, movement that spanned social, digital, and in-person experiences.

The message? A hard truth: Only 4% of federal cancer research funding goes to pediatric cancer research - and now, (almost) everyone knows that these kids deserve #MoreThan4

A promising breakthrough for children with brain cancer. PCF is funding groundbreaking research at Columbia University. A new study shows that a non‑invasive technique called Focused Ultrasound can now be safely used in children with brain cancer - forging a new path in the fight against pediatric tumors.

"Now that we’ve established the safety and feasibility of focused ultrasound in children, we’ve opened the door for more trials to try the technique earlier in the course of the disease and with lower systemic but higher brain doses. Our hope is that the technology will improve survival for children with brain cancer," says study leader Stergios Zacharoulis.

Research like this is why we continue to fight for #MoreThan4

For 30 years, I’ve had a front-row seat to the real, life-changing impact your generosity brings. What began 55 years ago as a single wish in one hospital, has transformed into a driving force behind pediatric cancer breakthroughs, at most of the nation’s leading oncology institutions. Because of you, PCF has funded millions of dollars in life-saving research, helping drive childhood cancer survival rates from just 50% in 1970 to more than 80% today. Yet, 20% of these children will not survive, and that heartbreaking reality is exactly why our work must continue. With your partnership and generosity, we are committed to accelerating research so the words “your child has cancer” are heard far less tomorrow than they are today.

Wishing you all a beautiful and peaceful holiday season. Looking forward to making significant change in childhood cancer research in 2026 with each and every one of you.

Pamela Strauss Peligri, Executive Director
