Five Influential Leaders Inducted into the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame

LCUL inducted five exceptional individuals into the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame during the opening ceremonies. The Hall of Fame induction recognizes honorees for their valuable leadership, commitment, dedication, and contributions to the credit union movement. Each credit union prepared a video highlighting their inductee, and you can view each video below.

Inaugural Path to Progress Award Presented

LCUL presented the inaugural Path to Progress Award to OnPath FCU during the award ceremonies Friday afternoon. This award recognizes a credit unions’ commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within its workforce, broader community, and the credit union movement. OnPath's innovative and impactful initiatives have earned them this remarkable award.

Excellence in Marketing Awards Showcased Louisiana's Best

Each year, LCUL recognizes credit unions for their outstanding efforts in marketing and communications. The award winners are selected by a diverse panel of judges based on the credit unions' outstanding achievements.

2023 Emerging Leader Announced

LCUL presented the 2023 Emerging Leader Award to Daphne Hernandez of OnPath FCU during the closing ceremonies. Thornhill was selected from five Emerging Leader finalists who represented the elite among the promising credit union professionals across the state of Louisiana.


As the overall winner, Hernandez receives a full scholarship to CUNA’s Emerging Leader Institute, an educational event designed to help credit union leaders develop effective management techniques.

Recognition Award Winners Moving on to Nationals in Washington, D.C.

LCUL awarded state-level winners of the 2023 Dora Maxwell, Louise Herring and Desjardins award competitions. These awards are sponsored by LCUL and CUNA with state winners being entered at the national level. Congratulations to the following winners:


Ouachita Valley FCU was awarded the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award.


Centric FCU was awarded the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award.


Southwest CU and Pelican State CU were the recipients of the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award.


National winners will be announced at the 2024 CUNA GAC in Washington DC next March. More information can be found on the National Awards Page.
