OCTOBER 2025

WHEN LESS BECOMES MORE

People are often surprised when I tell them that I sold $38,000 worth of stuff on Facebook Marketplace in just 30 days. Yes, a good portion of that came from selling a large piece of laundry equipment and a travel trailer—but the rest? It was everyday items that had been sitting around our home, unused and unnoticed, similar to those pictured above.

It started as an effort to declutter. I wasn’t planning a massive sell-off or a minimalist lifestyle overhaul. I just wanted more space—both physically and mentally. But once I started, I realized how much energy (and money) was tied up in things we no longer needed.

Every sold item became a small win. With every transaction, I was reminded that our stuff is not our security. Often, it’s our weight.

Minimalism isn’t about owning nothing—it’s about owning only what truly serves you. It’s about choosing freedom over accumulation, and clarity over clutter. When we release what no longer fits our life, we make room for what does.

For me, that meant watching our items get repurposed while our savings account filled up. It meant shifting from “I might need this someday” to “I have everything I need right now.” It helped me realize that simplicity can actually create abundance.

A few lessons I learned along the way:

  • Start with one drawer or one shelf. You don’t have to overhaul your whole home—momentum builds quickly.
  • Price things to move. Seeing progress is more motivating than maximizing profit on every single item. BONUS Tip: If the value of the item is less than $25 go ahead and donate it.
  • Let your values lead. If something no longer fits your lifestyle, it’s okay to release it—even if it once meant something to you.
  • Track what you earn. Watching the total grow keeps you motivated and reminds you of the value already sitting in your home. BONUS Tip: Add an extra category in your budget under income to track the money generated.

Whether your goal is to simplify your life, pay down debt, or create breathing room in your budget, remember: financial abundance isn’t just about earning more—it’s about freeing up what’s already there.

When you live with less, you don’t just make money—you make space for peace, purpose, and possibility.

This Month’s Freedom Challenge:

Take inventory of your space and identify a few items you no longer use or love. Your goal:

Sell or donate at least $150 worth of items this month. As you do, notice what else you gain—maybe it’s space, calm, or clarity.

Then ask yourself:

What does living with less make possible for me?

I’d love to hear what you discover. Reply and share your results—I might feature your story in next month’s Freedom Flyer!

A DO-OVER IN GRATITUDE:

CELEBRATING 5 Years (AGAIN!)

In last month’s Freedom Flyer, I shared that Coaching Freedom officially turned five years old! I also promised to celebrate that milestone by sending special thank-you gifts to those who have been engaging with me on social media—liking, commenting, sharing, and cheering this community on.

Well, here’s the honest truth: October didn’t go as planned. It turned out to be a full and more challenging month than I expected. Instead of sending out a handful of thank-you gifts, only two made it out the door. And while I could chalk that up to “life happening,” I also know how important it is to follow through when gratitude is promised.

So here’s my do-over.

November is the Month of Gratitude (for real this time).

I’m resetting, regrouping, and recommitting to sharing my appreciation in a tangible way. Throughout November, I’ll be doing multiple giveaways—small tokens of gratitude for those who continue to support Coaching Freedom through your engagement, referrals, and encouragement.

Whether it’s a financial resource, a favorite money mindset tool, or a little something that simply makes life more enjoyable, I’m excited to give back to the people who make this community what it is—you!

To make sure you don’t miss a giveaway, follow Coaching Freedom on all the platforms listed below. Every like, comment, share, and tag is an entry into the gratitude giveaways happening all month long.

Your support means more than you know. Thank you for being part of this mission to bring financial freedom and confidence to more people. Here’s to celebrating—again—with renewed energy, a full heart, and lots of gratitude to go around.
