Welcome to all my new subscribers and my 5200 loyal readers who have been with me for the past 20 years.

The “No Worries” Zone” – 14 things you don’t have to give a fig about anymore – it’s official

Hello Carole Ann,

Welcome to my 5200 subscribers and do check out your invitation to enjoy breakfast on me in Brighton next week at the end of this newsletter.

You know how it is - anxiety overwhelm, ruminations on a doom loop and the fact that you are getting eight hours sleep – only it takes three days to do it!

What if, though, you could press delete to your dud thoughts or tip them into some kind of doom tomb and stash them away for good?

What would it feel like to get rid of your NIDs (Negative Internal Dialogues)?

Lighter? Fresher? Liberated? Free?

Here I give you the chance to park your worries in a velvet-lined lock-up so you can get on with doing the joy and bliss work which comes with a zippidee-do-dah light-heartedness.

14 things to drop out of to drop into peace and possibility

1. Thinking the past was the best place you’ve lived - Things change, we change, move on and experiences don’t stop. Embrace the new. It’s all to play for. Why waste the now that will one day be the past?

2. Self-flagellation – Beating yourself up for what you didn’t do or did do but you regret it. Cashmere becomes you more than a hair shirt; update your look and practice unconditional forgiveness for yourself.

3. Not liking what you see - What we focus on expands. You give energy, positive or negative, to your current situation and it will grow and that includes how you view your body, your relationships or your wealth. Change your view, change your life.

4. Ditch the drama queens – don’t buy into other people’s stress and dramas. Walk away. Have strong boundaries and protect your time and energy. Practice flouncing (sequins and talc optional).

5. The cult of being busy – When did busy become the byword for good? Schedule NNMT – Non Negotiable Me Time and practice creative loafing. You might even get more done.

6. Success cliches – Reframe what other people define as success. Maybe your version is to work less, have more leisure time, to invest in great friends and family moments or heart-bursting hobbies you adore. Drop out of the “status race”.

7. Resenting others – if you feel envy or jealousy see it as a call to arms. What have they got that you want? Get it for yourself. Why focus your energy on someone or something that is going to leave you in deficit?

8. Waiting for the right moment – My friend, that time will never come. Act sooner rather than later. Take that measured risk.

9. The hell of other people – Yes, they can be annoying, disappointing and occasionally useless. Aim for tolerance. Our health, wealth and happiness is 100% our own responsibility. The same goes for them.

10. Angry thoughts – They’ll be hurting you more than it will hurt them. Turn fury into empathy for yourself and be kind to you.

11. Not thinking you are good enough – The most common limiting belief. If you can’t afford a coach then start by acknowledging your past achievements and unique strengths and write out 100 good things about yourself.

12. Avoiding tough stuff – If there is something you don’t want to do then confront it and get it out of the way. What we resist persists.

13. Assumptions – Assuming is guessing. If you don’t know and assume it’s your pre-emptive take on things but it might not be the truth.

14. Feeling the fear – adopt the spirit of curiosity and keep an open mind. It helps minimise fear and help you enjoy rather than endure the unknown.
