Willis Tower Electronic Recycling
Wednesday, October 11 & Wednesday, October 18
Willis Tower will be hosting complimentary electronic recycling events on Wednesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 18.
Collection carts for recycling electronics will be placed in the freight lobbies of your floor on the following dates:
- Floors Lower Level 1 - 44 | Wednesday, October 11
- Floors 45 - 98, 100 - 101 | Wednesday, October 18

Willis Tower - Tenant Compost Program |
|
|
|
It is estimated that between 30-35% of our waste is discarded food, according to the US EPA.
Did you know you support our local economy while participating in our food scrap recycling pilot? Our composting partners receive 300,000 tons of food and yard waste. This material produces an output of 175,000 tons of compost which help act as a soil amendment for local farms and gardens throughout the Chicagoland area. The material is produced locally and distributed locally while diverting from landfills!
In partnership with Republic Services, Willis Tower is happy to announce a building-wide compost program open to both office and retail tenants.
Getting involved is simple and at very little cost to you!

EQ Office - 2022 Sustainability and Social Impact Report |
When EQ transformed the 110-story Willis Tower into a top destination in Chicago, the team simultaneously identified key sustainability enhancements that led to a reduction of approximately 22% of energy consumption. Willis Tower has also become the largest building to receive the LEED Platinum designation in North America - and the effort continues!
2022 environmental improvements at Willis Tower included:

➞ LED lighting retrofits in addition to other energy efficiency improvements
➞ Low-flow, high-efficiency water fixtures
➞ New energy-tracking processes and sensors

TONE Neighborhood Wellness Fair

Join us for the annual TONE Neighborhood Wellness Fair on Wednesday, October 18 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM on L1 in Catalog.
The fair will feature over 20 local health and wellness booths, with a variety of fitness demonstrations, healthy samples, and raffle prizes!

As part of the Wellness Fair, TONE has also partnered with CVS to offer building tenants a vaccine clinic on Wednesday, October 18 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The clinic will be held at TONE in their back lounge/yoga room. Flu vaccines and COVID-19 vaccines will be offered.

Willis Tower - New ABC 7 Antenna |
On Sunday, September 24, ABC 7 installed a new antenna on our rooftop. This equipment allows them to broadcast WLS-TV across Chicago and beyond. At more than 40 feet tall and several hundred pounds, it’s much too big for the elevators.
A sky crane helicopter was used to lift it into position almost 1,700 feet above the ground at the top of the east mast. Watch our excellent tower crew in action!

Willis Tower - New Antenna Light Schedule
In an effort to continue our extensive and successful energy conservation initiatives, and in conjunction with crucial bird migration assistance efforts, the antenna lights on Willis Tower will now be shutting off nightly at 11:00 PM, as opposed to the previous shut off of 1:00 AM.
We're happy to report this impactful step to continue our endeavors for positive environmental change!

Willis Tower Blood Drive
Wednesday, October 4 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM | LL1 Space
We hope you'll join us for our next blood drive on Wednesday, October 4 in the empty LL1 space in Catalog from 9:00 AM-2:30 PM.
Appointments are highly recommended. Book a time slot by registering online at the link below or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Proof of vaccination is required for all donors. Thank you!
We also have some exciting updates for all of you regarding our continued blood drive efforts:
- By the end of 2023, we will have hosted 23 blood drives this year at Willis Tower.
- We are currently at 103.4% efficiency to goal, which means we're exceeding our blood goals at each drive.

We've had 86 first-time donors this year.
