Contribution and Virtual Offering Plate
At this time we are asking that parishioners who have pledged try to mail their checks directly to the Transfiguration office, or set up auto payment from your bank. It is very helpful if we can continue income at this time as we seek to create connections to each other and maintain parish life. If you are not a pledger at Transfig, please do use our ‘virtual offering plate’ on the front page of our website to make a contribution to our work as you are able.

No Birthdays or Anniversaries (that we know of) this week.

An excerpt from Bishop Marc's communication to clergy regarding local wildfires --With ways you can help!
The people of the Diocese of California has shown incredible courage and resilience through the ongoing pandemic but now we also face a new round of fear and uncertainty brought on by the outbreak of hundreds of local wildfires. We pray for all those directly impacted by the fires, especially for those who have lost homes, or had to leave livestock and pets behind. Among the tens of thousands forced to evacuate include the staff at our beloved St. Dorothy’s Rest and Bishop’s Ranch. Please pray for them and their loved ones, and pray for the countless firefighters and emergency responders, who are, at this moment, risking their lives on behalf of us all.

Fire relief efforts in our diocese
In this fast-moving situation, your safety and that of your congregations and neighbors is of utmost concern, and the diocese is here to help. If you need assistance with evacuation, housing, food, or pastoral care, please reach out to the Rev. Jane McDougle, our diocesan disaster response coordinator: / 650-823-2164  or DioCal Working Group Head for Communication Stephanie Martin Taylor: / 415-271-2441.
They can connect you with deanery-based disaster coordinators from the following congregations:
  • Epiphany, San Carlos (Peninsula)
  • Holy Innocents (San Francisco)
  • St. James, Fremont (Southern Alameda)
  • Our Savior, Mill Valley (Marin)
  • St. Stephen’s, Orinda (Contra Costa)
  • Alameda deanery coordinating congregation TBA

Helping our neighbor dioceses
Among those in deep need of our prayers and support are Episcopal congregations in the El Camino Real, Northern California, and Los Angeles dioceses. Please add them to your prayer lists and ask your congregations to send their donations through the following links:

Help for all evacuees
For those evacuated from their homes in these pandemic days, having safe access to basic supplies is challenging. The Dioceses NorCal and El Camino Real have confirmed that they would appreciate our help creating Care Bags and coordinating their distribution:
Here is a list of possible items for a Care Bag:
  • Toiletries, such as: a comb, shampoo/conditioner, soap, toothbrush/paste, deodorant, moisturizer, sunscreen, paper tissues, disposable razor, toilet tissue, sanitary supplies, diapers
  • COVID-19 protection: gel hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, mask, disposable gloves
  • First aid/medications, such as: bandaids, Tylenol/aspirin
  • Food: protein bars, nuts, dried fruit, water, chocolate, gum, tea bags
  • Clothing: underwear, socks, T-shirt, hat/cap
  • Pet food and supplies: cans of dog/cat food, small bags dog/cat kibble, cat litter

Are you interested in making a difference in our community? Do you have a garden or have you thought of starting one? Come and learn about Good News Gardens—a movement started by the Episcopal Church to provide food to those in need while addressing food justice. You don’t need a big plot of land or experience in gardening; even planting a pot of herbs or adding an extra container to your patio garden can help our community. We will be having an informational meeting September 1 at 5:30 pm in the Faith Formation zoom room, password: 2020. You can learn more about the Good News Gardens movement here: If you have any questions please contact Michele Maia,

Bring along a water bottle and a snack and wear your face covering. RSVP to Michele,
Joyful Noise Storytelling
A delightful ministry looking for new members
Do you have a favorite Bible story? Do you love telling or listening to stories? If you answered yes, please consider becoming a Joyful Noise storyteller! Every Sunday at our Joyful Noise service at 9:15 am we gather on zoom to tell Bible stories and sing songs. The stories are simple, just 3-5 minutes, and the audience is cuter than a box of kittens! No special skills are needed, just the desire to share a story with some of our youngest children. You can choose your own story or I can provide you with a story and script. Please contact Michele Maia, to join this joyful ministry.
