women's fellowship

Women's Fellowship is gathering TONIGHT - Friday, Oct. 2

Join other women from the parish (and often friends) for fellowship, study, and prayer! This week we will catch up from our summer adventures and pray the office of Compline together. Email the Parish Office for the location: office@allsaintsbelmont.org. Questions? Reach out to Deb Gobetz.

Volunteers needed to help with the Blessing of the Animals!

This should be a fun event for the whole congregation! Music, animals of all sorts, snacks - what could be better! Join in fun whether you have a pet or not, to help us welcome any visitors! (We have already had lots of interest in this event.

There is a sign-up sheet in the Clark Street Vestibule (or you can email the Parish Office). Here is what is needed:

2:00 pm - Set-up help - We need to bring out a few tables, some light refreshments, books to give away, and can help our guest musicians get organized.

3:00 pm - Hospitality (stand at the refreshment table to welcome our guests)

4:00 pm - Hospitality (stand at the refreshment table to welcome our guests)

5:00 pm - Clean-up

We hope you will bring your pets as well (or a favorite stuffed animal). If your pet doesn't travel well, feel free to bring a picture!

Help us spread the news ~ We are now open for registration for Wonder Wednesdays!

Half Days throughout the school year from 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm.

The first half day is November 4.

Wonder Wednesdays is a brand new program at All Saints - an after-school program for children in grades K-3 on 1/2 day Wednesdays throughout the school year. We hope All Saints' will become a place where children can unwind, connect, explore, and wonder together. Each Wednesday will include lunch, outdoor play, a Godly Play session, and plenty of opportunities for creativity, friendship, and fun. It’s a place where children can be themselves, ask big questions, and discover the wonder of God and the world around them. Shelley Erickson, the Director of the program, says, “I want Wonder Wednesdays to offer a little space for rest, peace, and joy.”

We are planning to pilot our Free Community Meals outreach this fall with a meal on Sunday, Nov. 8

~ In honor of Veteran's Day

We hope many of you will plan to join in the work (and joy) of this first Community Meal at All Saints. We need:

  • Someone to plan the menu & do the shopping (Brad Lehman & Donna Gross stand ready to advise!)
  • Volunteers to prepare the meal after the 10 am service on Nov. 8
  • Volunteers to help set-up for the meal at 4:00 pm on Nov. 8
  • Volunteers to welcome guests, serve the meal, and if there is space, share the meal with our guests.
  • Volunteers to clean up at the conclusion of the meal.

A sign-up sheet is in the Clark Street Vestibule.

Our hope is to begin offering these meals to the community monthly after the first of the year.

Book Study planned for Thursday evenings beginning Oct. 22 on Zoom.

Join our Co-Rector, Paul Minor, for a four-week study of the book, "Believe: Why everyone should be religious."

Do you ever wish you had more faith, but struggle to make religious belief fit with modern assumptions about the world and human life? With a rare combination of empathy, open-mindedness, and persuasive argument, New York Times columnist Ross Douthat offers a blueprint for thinking your way from doubt to belief.

Copies of the book are available at the Church for $10.00.

Mark your calendar!

The Bishop is coming to All Saints' on November 22!

We are excited to plan Bishop Julia Whitworth's first visitation to All Saints' in Belmont on Sunday, November 22. We will have a single service that day at 10:00 am.

After the service, we will host a reception for the Bishop, where she will spend time with the parish.

We hope everyone will come to share what it's like to be part of this community and to get to know our Bishop.

Coffee Hour Hosts Needed

Thank you to all those who helped with the Lemonade Stand this summer! Special thanks to Lee Strobel who has been picking up the donuts each week!

Its time to make the switch to Coffee upstairs in the Parish Hall. If you've never hosted before, this is a wonderful opportunity to help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere after worship. We'd love to have you sign up for a Sunday or two during the Program Year!
