martinwolf  Annual Letter
A Year for the Record Books

Dear Clients, Partners, and Friends,

Today marks just over one year since my last letter, and in that time we have seen a year for the record books. In 2015 the Fed raised interest rates for the first time in nine years, global M&A was reported to have hit a record $4.5 trillion, and with Dell's bid for EMC we saw  the announcement of the biggest tech M&A transaction in history.

To put these developments in perspective and provide some thoughts and predictions for 2016, our annual letter touches on the following topics:
Marty Tight
Marty Wolf
  1. Revisiting the trends of 2014 and how they set the stage for 2015
  2. What higher interest rates say about the current state of the US economy
  3. How lower growth is the new normal for the global economy
  4. Increased consolidation as companies turn to M&A to substitute growth
  5. The New IT versus the Old IT and the need for companies of all sizes and types to transform.
Looking back on last year's letter today, it's clear that the stage was being set for a hugely consequential year: one in which significant value could be found if you knew where to look. In January, we celebrate our 19th anniversary - and I have no doubt our 20th year as a firm will be our best one yet.
I want to thank you for the role that you have played in our success, and as always I look forward to hearing your perspective as we begin 2016.

I wish you all Happy Holidays, a Happy New Year and, as always, Happy Selling!
