Wood Badge, Scouting’s premier adult leadership training, will be held at Firelands Scout Reservation over the weekends of August 3-5 and August 17-19, 2018. Designed by Scouting’s founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, this leadership course will help you master essential skills and tools for bringing Scouting’s vision to life along with reinforcing Scouting values and helping you hone your ability to lead and make a difference in the future of our great movement!
The first three full days of the course use a classroom approach with practical exercises to teach the essentials of leadership and how to best use a model of a scout unit program. You will learn what makes leadership work for you in scouting and in your personal life.
The second three full days of the course offer an outdoor experience with classroom modules to help learn the application of the leadership skills unique to Boy Scout units.
Wood Badge is designed to be a mountaintop experience for those who participate! Careful planning and strict attention to detail provides a training program that is second to none. Add to this a thoroughly prepared and enthusiastic staff and it is little wonder that most Scouters return from Wood Badge inspired and ready to do an even better job of delivering the promises of Scouting to young people.
I am pleased to announce the selection of John Hogan as the course director and Chris Pascarella as the assistant scoutmaster for program.
Their contact information is on the attached flyer for the course. Please do not hesitate to contact either of them or me with any questions you might have. We’d love to come visit your unit and share more in person.
I encourage you to sign up now for this transformational experience! You’ll be glad you did!
Yours in Scouting,
Lake Erie Council Wood Badge Coordinator
