The 2019 Annual Information Return (AIR) is now open – File today!
The 2019 Annual Information Return (AIR) is now open! You have until March 31, 2020 to complete your 2019 AIR. The AIR is an annual questionnaire designed to collect specific information from mortgage brokerages and administrators licensed by FSRA. It must be filed electronically through Licensing Link and may only be completed by the principal broker of a mortgage brokerage, and/or the principal representative of a mortgage administrator.

All licensed mortgage brokerages and administrators are required to complete and file an AIR no later than March 31 of each year, as per Ontario Regulation 193/08. The AIR provides valuable information that helps to inform our work within the sector.

The AIR is now faster and easier to complete, as the number of questions and data points required has been reduced.

The 2019 AIR must be submitted by March 31, 2020 . All licensed mortgage brokerages and administrators must file, even if they did not do any business in 2019. Mortgage brokerages or administrators that do not file by March 31, 2020 may face summary administrative penalties, or other regulatory enforcement action.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Make sure your information is up-to-date in Licensing Link

  • Note: All account updates must be completed in advance of completing your 2019 AIR. While you may proceed with entering information into your AIR and save as a draft, you will not be permitted to proceed with the AIR until all updates are submitted and accepted by FSRA and reflected in the Licensing Link account system.

2. Review the step-by-step instructions

  • Note: FSRA recommends the following internet requirements: (Internet Explorer 11; secure high-speed internet connection; JavaScript, cookies, pop-ups, 128-bit encryption and security protocol TLS 1.2 enabled).

3. Submit (file) your AIR using Licensing Link by March 31, 2020
