2019 Contraceptive Social Marketing Statistics Released!

We are pleased to share the 2019 Contraceptive Social Marketing Statistics, a compendium of programs that provide contraceptives and reproductive health products around the world.

In 2019, 124 programs across 70 countries generated 89.3 million Couple Years of Protection (CYPs). 

These programs sold: 
  • 1,762,344,071 condoms
  • 5,271,696 IUDs sold 
  • 1,702,572 hormonal implants
  • 22,942,885 units of emergency contraception
  • 189,793,768 oral contraceptive cycles
  • 44,275,182 injectables
  • 8,018,890 medical abortion combipacks
  • 41,538,936 misoprostol pills
