2024 Capacity Building Webinar Series | |
NAACFRC presents its monthly Capacity Building Webinar Series to advance interdisciplinary community-engaged research, support programs and policies to better serve African American children and families, build research capacity and infrastructure to conduct research relevant to enhance ACF program and policy goals, and communicate research findings to a broad audience of community leaders, practitioners, researchers, state and federal policymakers.

The 2024 Emerging Scholars Application is Closing Soon! | |
The Emerging Scholars Program is a one-year-long, remote, mentored research internship designed to increase knowledge and skills of students interested in community-based participatory research on economic and social mobility, poverty alleviation, and early care and education for African American children and families.
This year's application is open to currently enrolled graduate students majoring in social work, public administration, public health, education, or related fields. The deadline for all applications is April 1, 2024.

State of Black Dads in Fulton County Forum

Dr. Latrice Rollins (NAACFRC Director) and Dr. Cassandra Bolar (NAACFRC Co-Investigator) presented at the "State of Black Dads in Fulton County Forum" led by the Moynihan Institute for Fatherhood Research and Policy and Fathers Incorporated. The Moynihan Institute recently released a report entitled "Dynamics of Atlanta Black Dads". This report was the result of NAACFRC Community Pilot Project Program funding. Fathers Incorporated was a 2022 awardee. Click here to learn more about previous projects and when funding will be available again.
The Moynihan Institute was founded in 2015 through a collaboration between Fathers Incorporated, the Urban Institute, and the Open Society Foundations' Campaign for Black Male Achievement. Inspired by the seminal Moynihan Report, the Moynihan Institute for Fatherhood Research and Policy envisions a world where the intricate dynamics of Black families are understood, appreciated, and supported.

2024 Summer Internship Funding for Undergraduate Students from Underrepresented Backgrounds in the Field of Education Research | |
Applications are due April 5th for SREE's summer round of funding for undergraduate interns in the education research field. Up to 12 current undergraduate students will receive a scholarship to support their summer 2024 internships in education research. Eligibility is open to students who identify as Black, Latinx, and/or from a racial or ethnic group traditionally underrepresented in the scientific workforce. | |

The 22nd Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS) | |
Registration is open for the Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS) 2024, which will be convened by the Administration for Children and Families on May 29-31, 2024, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.
RECS is a forum for researchers, state and local administrators, practitioners, and federal officials and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge research on programs, policies, and services that support families on the path to economic self-sufficiency and well-being. Join us to hear the latest findings from evaluations of human services programs and policies, discuss ways to incorporate findings into the design and implementation of programs, and identify future evaluation needs.
