Dear FlyLady and Crew,
Today I was tidying and deep cleaning my basement, I started thinking about how long I've been following this system. I think it has been over 20 years. My children were about 4 and 6 at the time, and they are all grown up now.
I raised them without raising my voice (at least not often), teaching them to tidy 10 minutes at a time, and to occasionally get rid of the things that no longer blessed them and might bless somebody else. I taught them to safely store away the things that are precious, and it was a nice neat box artwork from when they were little that brought you to mind.
You helped me be a better mother. You helped me make sure that we had dinners. We've had less stress, more money, more healthy meals, and no doubt healthier bodies because of this skill.
You taught me to use a calendar. I had no idea before, but you taught me to write things on it and then to look at it everyday. So many wonderful things came from this skill -- so many activities for my kids, family fun outings, and eventually going back to college myself.
I couldn't have done it without the basic skill of using a calendar. I did things 10 or 15 minutes at a time, even my homework when I went to college. It was all tiny things, little changes, little routines. But the effect over 2 decades is mind blowing. I just wanted to say thank you.
I had an unhappy childhood. I read many parenting books because I wanted to break family patterns, but you are the one who taught me the nitty gritty of how to run a home and create a wonderful space for my children. My children had happy childhoods and felt cared for and supported, and I thank you for that.

I just have to thank you for the 2 different sized calendars! For the a while now I’ve been buying 2 big calendars because I need one for my big family and all our activities, and I use the other for our menu-which took up a lot of space.
With these new little calendars, it is plenty big for the daily menu and perfectly sized to not take up so much room on my pantry wall (the big calendar is still front and center on the refrigerator door for the family to see). I will buy both calendars for as long as you sell them!
