Exterior Detailing Tech Session - March 23

GMR 2024 Events Save the Dates

Message from GMR President

Alessandro Iuppa

Your GMR Board has been busy over the past couple of months working on our 2024 Events Calendar. The first event is a Tech Session on the Introduction to Exterior Detailing hosted by GMR member Paul Zuchowski on Saturday. March 23. Among the other events will be a reprise of the exciting Poker Run Driving Tour, a 100 Mile Driving Tour on Route 100 and some purely social events. Further, board members Bob Lierle and Peter Rogal are exploring options for GMR members to experience high performance drivers education (HPDE). We are open to other events so if you have a driving tour or social event that you would like to lead or host please drop me an email at gmrpca@gmail.com.

Be sure to scroll through the newsletter for a preview of our busy calendar.

PCA Auto Renewal Renewal

To help promote PCA’s Auto Renewal program in 2024, any primary member in the auto renewal program will be automatically entered in a monthly drawing to win a Griot's Garage Orbital Polisher. Auto renewal will provide uninterrupted membership and give members a chance to win a Griot's Garage Orbital Polisher. One Orbital Polisher will be given away to a member in the auto renewal program monthly throughout 2024. The Orbital Polishers are compliments of Griot's Garage. Members can only select the auto renewal option while in the two-month renewal window. This Griot’s Polisher promotion is emailed to all renewing members during their two-month renewal window.

To update your profile for auto renewal, take the following steps:

  1. Go to PCA.org.
  2. Click on your name at the upper right of the page.
  3. Your profile will be displayed on the left side of the page.
  4. Just below “MY SETTINGS”, select Billing/Payment settings.
  5. Enter payment information and select Auto-Renew.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Membership Chair, Brad Kennison at gmrpca@gmail.com.

Exterior Detailing Tech Session

Saturday, March 23

Williston, Vermont

GMR member Paul Zuchowski will host an “Introduction to Exterior Detailing Tech Session" at his home in Williston. The program will cover topics such as paint, paint correction, paint care, glass cleaning, trim cleaning and proper washing techniques. He will be using tools such as grit guards, microfiber towels and applicators, clay bars, dual-action polishing tools, various polishing pads and compounds and various coatings and waxes. There will be live demos on one of his family vehicles and participants will be given the opportunity to try their hand using some of the tools and products. The session will take place in Paul's heated garage so we will be meeting rain or shine. However, you should consider bringing a sweatshirt or jacket as the heat is set around 45 degrees. Due to the size of his garage participation will be limited to the first 12 members to sign up. If there is sufficient interest Paul has offered to conduct additional sessions over the coming months.

Calling All Kids to PCA Juniors

Did you know that PCA members can sign up their children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews for free provided they are under the age of 18? This is one of the many benefits of your PCA membership. New Juniors will receive an age appropriate welcome kit which includes a personalized name tag.

In just the past two years GMR has doubled our PCA Juniors membership, and we would like to add more. The more members, the more fun we will have when creating a junior’s event.

Green Mountain Merchandise Webstore

Green Mountain Region Name Tags

We recommend that new members and their spouses or partners purchase "official" Green Mountain Club name tags for use at all GMR events. Please email gmrpca@gmail.com to request them for you and your spouse/partner, and our treasurer, Christina McCaffrey, will try to get them for you in time for the next event. The cost is $25.00 per name tag (includes shipping).

Want your spouse or partner to also get these

Green Mountain PCA Newsletters?

When you joined PCA (recently or forever ago) you no doubt listed your partner or spouse as a co-member. Many co-members however have not provided their email addresses. If your spouse/partner would like to receive the Mountaineer as well as yourself, have them call PCA HQ at (410) 381-0911‬ and give PCA the information. It only takes a few minutes as PCA is very efficient. That way you both will receive The Mountaineer and other pertinent club emails.

If your co-member remembers his or her co-member login (it is separate from the main member) you can do it that way too-- but calling is probably the quickest.

Member Feature:

Send us your photos!

We have started a feature highlighting a different member in the GMR Mountaineer with his or her Porsche. If you would like to be featured in future newsletter please submit some photos of you and your car along with a paragraph or two explaining why you joined the GMR, your favorite drives or whatever!

Please reply to gmrpca@gmailcom with your photo and information.
