Sundays after Youth Group

THIS SUNDAY - Sunday, March 16, 2025

  • We will be working on Youth Sunday (April 6th, 10:00 am) for the next few weeks, including working on our special anthem, "My Lighthouse." Each Sunday night we'll practice the anthem right at 5:30, so please be there right on time. No worries if you're on Spring Break this week. We'll take you when you are back! Our Youth Sunday theme is "Lost and Found" and we would love any art related to this theme that our youth would like to share. Contact Peter Henry (phenry@dcpc.org) if you have something for our big Sunday.

  • In addition to Youth Sunday planning this Sunday night, we might have a round or two of capture the flag this Sunday if the weather is right. TBD!

  • Youth Music with Sarah and David meets this Sunday in the Choir Room at 4:30 pm.

  • Youth Sunday School, AKA Screen and Scripture, is on hiatus until there's a new Staff Associate for Youth Ministry.

THE 3 for March 14, 2025

1 - SUNDAY NIGHT KITCHEN SIGN-UPS

If you have not yet volunteered this year in the kitchen on Sunday night, please do so now. We need everyone's help. Please take a look at our sign-up and recruit a friend or two to join you!

Speaking of dinner, thank you to the various small groups in the church (like the Shalom Group) who are making our dinner and desserts this week while our cook is out this Sunday night. They don't even have students in our program and they are stepping up this week!

2 - MIDDLE SCHOOL FAITH IN ACTION

Now is the time to register for Faith in Action, a week of daily service projects from July 7-11, 2025. Robert Alexander and John Ryan will be leading a week of daily intown mission opportunities with DCPC's mission partners. Working with Feed NC, The Ada Jenkins Center, Trees Davidson and Loaves and Fishes, this will be a great chance for our middle school students to put their faith into action. BTW, regarding the chance to serve with fellow middle school students this summer, according to some studies, it takes as many as 45 hours to become friends and another 150 to become close friends. This week will be a great chance to make or deepen friendships with other students at DCPC! Use this link to register via Realm.

3 - MISSON TRIP FUNDRASIER

Our high school mission trippers are going to be selling Butter Braids (wonderful breakfast pastries) as a fundraiser for our trip to Maine in June. We'll start taking orders on March 30. Be on the lookout for links in future emails and students selling in the Burris Space after worship on March 30th and April 6th.

If you would like be more involved with youth ministry at DCPC, please contact our Youth Ministry Committee chair and fellow parent, Allison Cockrill. cockrillfamily@gmail.com.
