IV Lent and Episcopal Impact Fund Sunday

Dear Friends in Christ,

This Sunday is Episcopal Impact Sunday, and we will listen to guest speaker, The Rev. Lindy Bunch. Lindy serves on the Board of Episcopal Impact Fund (EIF), the Diocese of California's outreach arm. The agency was previously known as Episcopal Charities. Lindy and EIF are working to cultivate a stronger relationship with churches across the diocese and let everyone know about the charity's work, grants to community-based nonprofits, and support to congregations' anti-poverty work.
I hope you find her sermon insightful and inspiring.
Yours in Christ,

Contribution and Virtual Offering Plate
We are thankful to parishioners who pledge and are mailing their checks directly to the Transfiguration office, or have set up auto payment from your bank. It is very helpful that we continue income at this time as we seek to create connections to each other and maintain parish life. If you are not a pledger at Transfig, please do use our ‘virtual offering plate’ on the front page of our website to make a contribution to our work as you are able.

Happy Birthday
Matt Krause on Sunday (today), Keith Jobe on Wednesday; Margot Burt-Chung, Josephine Kearns and Kelsey Popa on Friday.
Easter Video Project—we need your help!

For our Transfiguration-Epiphany Easter Vigil at 4pm we would love to create a video montage. Will you help us out?

Record yourself joyfully saying that word that we don’t use in liturgy during the Lenten Season. (hint: it’s “Alleluia”)

It would be great if you would record you – and anyone else in the house with you – saying that word with great enthusiasm - just that one word.

Dwight Hill, from Epiphany, is going to edit them all together for us to use in our combined Transfiguration-Epiphany 4pm Easter Vigil and our Easter morning service. So fire up your phones or your tablets and send Dwight your recording. You can upload to SmugMug, or you can send it directly to Dwight via his email, Or, you can send your videos to Michele, and she'll get it to Dwight. Please send us your video by March 25. Thank you so much for helping make Easter extra joyous!
Flowering Easter Cross 2021
Art is always more fun when done in community.
Join us THIS Saturday, March 13 at 4 pm in the Faith Formation zoom room to color and create Easter flowers together. Print your project sheet, gather your art supplies and meet us on zoom for a relaxing hour of coloring and conversation.

You can create as many flowers as you like any time:

  • Print the flower project PDF and color it at home using whatever materials you have available.
  • Before you cut and fold it, take a picture or scan of the flat, colored sheet and email it to
  • All flowers received BEFORE March 19 will be printed and made into 3-D flowers that will grow our Easter cross.

Be a part of our Easter Vigil celebration!
Actors and artists are needed to help us tell the parable of the Good Samaritan in a video that we will feature during our Easter Vigil.

We need children and youth to help tell the story. We need bandits and Levites and priests and travelers—all the parts are open. Just let Michele,, know what part you would like to play. We will be filming in front of a green screen in the parish hall at Church of the Epiphany, 1839 Arroyo Ave, San Carlos, just like we did for the Christmas pageant. Costumes will be available when you come to film on either Saturday March 20, 11am-12:30pm or Monday, March 22, 3:30-5:00pm. Scripts will be available soon, with speaking and non-speaking parts available. If you are interested in contributing art for the background, please let Michele know. The link to sign up for a time to come to Epiphany to film is here:

If you want to remember the story of the Good Samaritan, check out these versions told in Legos and by the vegetables of Veggie Tales

Thank you for helping us tell the story and making our Easter Vigil extra special!
