The Walnut Cove Members Association (WCMA) is comprised of a group of Cliffs at Walnut Cove property owners who are interested in supporting local nonprofit charities.

The WCMA is a nonprofit that raises money through member dues, donations, and an annual "Weekend of Giving". At the end of each year, these funds are distributed to a variety of local charitable organizations in which members are actively involved.

Since its inception in 2007, WCMA has awarded 306 grants, totaling over $1,125,000, to a diverse range of nonprofits. With currently more than 330 members, many of whom volunteer as board and committee members, their service to the community, along with their generous donations, makes Walnut Cove a valued and respected part of the greater Asheville area.

Eblen Charities is the proud recipient of one of these grants, designated specifically for our student clothing project. In the last 8 years Eblen has provided, with the help of the WCMA, 23,364 vouchers to local children for shoes and clothes.

This year before school even started, the Eblen Charities Student Clothing Project has assisted 70 students with clothing and shoes so they will not have to start the new school year with those that are ill-fitting or worn. With our areas high cost of living paired with a serviced based economy, many families in our community have barely enough for the basic necessities they need so when extra expenses arise, they have little if anything to spend. This is especially difficult for families with children, when they outgrow their clothes and shoes, and cannot afford to replace them.

Special thanks to the WCMA for helping the children of our community!

Ingles Tools for Schools Supply Drive and Distribution through Eblen Charities

We would like to thank all those who joined us this year for the 11 th  annual Ingles Tools for Schools supply drive and giveaway day.

This is one of the biggest outreach projects we do and we could not do it without our Sponsors, donors and volunteers.
A tractor trailer was filled with supplies at the collection drive. Ingles employees, Eblen staff and volunteers, along with WLOS and iHeartRadio greeted and collected supplies from 4:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
Nearly 100 volunteers and 500 volunteer hours were given in preparation for the giveaway day! Sorting and organizing the 35 stations of paper, pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, erasers, folders, book bags and more! Together we helped more than 1,200 children get the school supplies they needed to begin school this past Monday. The supplies the children receive help relieve the financial burden on the family, help the teachers and help the children feel the same as everyone else, helps give them confidence and be happy to start school!

The third annual Ingles Pharmacy / Eblen Immunization Project had another successful year. Thanks to Ingles Pharmacy, the Buncombe County Health Department, Dr. Drew, and Young Transportation, for providing immunizations for children starting Kindergarten and 7 th  grade, flu shots, and wellness checkups for those who were in need.

We are so thankful to Ingles Markets, WLOS, iHeart radio, and the Asheville Citizen-Times for the time and resources used to make the Ingles Tools for School Supply Drive a huge success. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who sponsored, donated, and volunteered.
