The AAVSB's Regulatory Policy Task Force will present three proposed model regulations: Model Regulations for Establishment and Maintenance of a VCPR, Telehealth and the Virtual Practice of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technology, and Safe Haven Program.


These are currently out for commentary from Member Boards and allied organizations. RPTF Chair Dr. Marla McGeorge, RPTF Vice Chair Dr. Kelly Gottschalk, and AAVSB RPTF Staff Liaison and Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Beth Venit will present the regulations as well as the rationale behind their creation.


There will be a significant amount of time for questions and answers from the Member Boards.

Executive Directors and Registrars are invited to the in-person ED session on September 28 & 29.

Changes Coming to RACE Standards

New standards have been recommended by the RACE Committee and approved by the AAVSB Board of Directors. The standards will be effective and available on the AAVSB website on July 1, 2023, for all programs, both new and renewals.

Model Regulation Commentary

The AAVSB's Regulatory Policy Task Force (RPTF) has created three proposed Model Regulations and is seeking comments from the AAVSB Member Board Executive Directors and Registrars. Please share within your organization as needed to develop comments.

Diversity Award Recipient

The American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2023 VTNE Celebrating Diversity Award is Sarah Henderson, a graduating Veterinary Technology senior from Long Island University.

AAVSB Announces New VTNE® Content Outline

The AAVSB is pleased to announce the recently approved new content outline for the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE), which is based on a year-long comprehensive Job Analysis project.

 

The first exam with the new content outline will be administered in the November/December 2023 window.


The new outline will be available on the AAVSB website for VTNE candidates to review on August 15, 2023. To avoid confusion, Program Directors are asked not to present information to students about the new content outline until that time.

AAVSB New Office Dedication
