Maximize ACCESS Proposal Submission Window Opening Soon

The next window for submitting Maximize ACCESS proposals will open Sunday, June 15 and close Thursday, July 31. Awards will begin October 1. From the last Maximize ACCESS window, ACCESS Allocations received 90 proposals from principal investigators representing 51 institutions. Materials engineering, fluid and plasma physics, physical chemistry, and biological sciences were the most represented scientific fields among the proposals. Eighty-eight proposals, or 98%, were recommended for awards for a total of 667 million service units. To learn more about how to write a successful Maximize ACCESS proposal, check out the documentation page. Under the “Maximize ACCESS” drop-down menu, applicants can watch videos on how to apply.

Traveling the Globe, Reaching the Community

In April, staff had the opportunity to talk about ACCESS at the HPC User Forum Spring 2025 Meeting in Santa Fe, NM and the 2025 InPEx Workshop in Tokyo. In May, our colleagues attended the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium (RMACC) Symposium in Boulder, CO and made an appearance virtually during the Campus Champions All Champions Call. ACCESS Innovations Showcased at Global OnDemand Conference

The 2025 Global Open OnDemand (GOOD) Conference, held in March at Harvard University, featured a range of contributions from the ACCESS community. ACCESS staff highlighted advancements in dashboard development and system integration, and researchers and students presented their latest work, demonstrating the power of collaboration in the high performance computing community. ACCESS REU students presented their work on enhancing the Anvil OnDemand dashboard and Texas A&M University offered two presentations on advancements in Open OnDemand implementations within their HPC systems.

“As Open OnDemand continues to evolve, contributions from NSF ACCESS community members are helping to simplify HPC resource access,” said Ohio Supercomputer Center Director of Strategic Programs Alan Chalker, who helped organize the conference. “Likewise, as part of the ACCESS program, the Open OnDemand team will continue to ensure that ACCESS resources with Open OnDemand benefit from advances by the Open OnDemand community towards making HPC more user friendly than ever before.”
