Hello gentle readers,
The people at ACVA are sending each of you very best wishes. Thank Heavens we are still here and able to read these lines.
The college has been perfectly busy in the last quarter, with our many new, and continuing students/learners. Both ladies and gentlemen - many from remote foreign sectors – who are so bright and ask the most fascinating questions – are in classes right now. It’s delightful to observe. Sincere congratulations to our recent Jyotisha Ratna graduates, and to our Jyothisha Prabhakara graduate! You have distinguished yourselves during the exams, and have earned your impressive diplomas. Your tutors, and ACVA’s distinguished faculty, are proud to have contributed to your Jyotish education.

The Observatory

Dear Readers,
The coming post-solstice season brings a period of relative stability in which the slow-moving outer planets are not changing signs (as much), and there are no eclipses. However, due to the nature of the way the slower-moving Grahas appear to move in the sky, we will definitely notice the retrograde cycles. Saturn will stop its forward progress and move back into Capricorn for a few months. Neptune, after a brief appearance in Pisces, will move back to Aquarius.
At the end of July and early August, Mars joins up with Rahu (Lunar Eclipse point) and outer planet Uranus at the end of Aries, while Saturn sits at the end of Capricorn. Everywhere on Earth people will have to deal with response to sudden release of anger and frustration. But it is important to remember that these cycles repeat themselves every few decades to give a new generation a chance to work on them.

Gola –Summer 2022

Gola is the observational astronomy limb of Jyotish. For most of the summer we can observe Shani, Guru, Mangala and Shukra in the morning sky before sunrise. Shani and Guru oppose Surya this summer and will become visible at sunset accordingly. This will cause them to transition from morning planets to evening planets. Budha, whose cycle around Surya is 88 days will make both an evening and morning appearance this summer. Chandra’s 27.5 day cycle through the zodiac provides opportunities to witness conjunctions with each visible graha every month. Go out and locate the grahas in the night sky as they travel through rashis and pass the primary stars of nakshatras. Commune with them in the heavens and experience a level of Seeing, beyond a computer screen, that deepens your understanding and practice of Jyotish

Uncovering Barriers to Success with Vedic Astrology

As a Vedic Astrology Coach™ (VAC™) certified through the American College of Vedic Astrology (ACVA), I work via a hybrid model that combines the assistive, co-active practice of life coaching with the behavioral assessment and forecasting abilities of Vedic astrology. Analysis of the astrological birth chart performed in tandem with a life coaching evaluation reveals individual aptitudes, skills, values, motivations, and behaviors. This knowledge provides a useful guide to understanding individual life purpose and how to best fulfill one’s natural ability, envision new possibilities, and identify the best choices for action. Vedic Astrology Coaching uses the premise that much of one’s fate is negotiable, meaning that we have the free will to make empowered choices as to how to navigate various karmic influences. In my work, I seek to realistically measure those areas of belief, attitude, and conduct that limit an individual’s ability to reach success.
