Justice Department Opens Investigation into Flix North America, FlixBus, and Greyhound for Disability Discrimination (8-4-2025)

--The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division announced that it has launched an investigation into the bus companies FlixBus and Greyhound to determine whether FlixBus and Greyhound violate Title III of the ADA by discriminating against passengers with disabilities and denying them reasonable accommodations.


Note: The DOJ is asking those who believe they have experienced disability discrimination at the hands of FlixBus or Greyhound to file a complaint with the Civil Rights Division or call the toll-free ADA Information Line at 1-800-514-0301 (voice/relay) or 1-833-610-1264 (TTY). 

Criswell Chevrolet to Pay $30,000 in EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit (8-13-2025)

Convenience Store Management Company Settles EEOC Disability Harassment, Discrimination, and Retaliation Case (8-11-2025)

--Sarafina Network settles ADA case charging that convenience store worker with multiple disabilities was harassed and then subjected to retaliatory discharge

Zoe Center for Pediatric & Adolescent Health to Pay $70,000 in EEOC Disability Discrimination Lawsuit (8-05-2025)

--The EEOC’s suit charged that in January 2022, an employee requested a reasonable accommodation of one day of leave, one week of remote work, and then a modified schedule of working remotely three days per week due to her disabilities. The employee could have performed her job responsibilities within the proposed modified work schedule. However, the day after requesting the reasonable accommodation, Zoe Pediatrics denied the employee’s request and terminated her employment.

--Eight Circuit panel unanimously upholds employment rights for deaf truck driver.

Western Distributing to Pay $919,000 in EEOC Disability Discrimination Lawsuit (7-16-2025)

Western’s full-duty policy required individuals to be released from any and all medical restrictions in order to work, regardless of whether the individual could work with or without a reasonable accommodation. Western also maintained a policy of firing employees if they could not return from Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave within 12 weeks, even if they could have returned with a short extension or other accommodation
