The Affordable Housing Alliance and NeighborWorks Week 2022!
The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) and a large contingent of community partners, business leaders, and local volunteers came together on Tuesday, June 7th to celebrate NeighborWorks America’s annual NeighborWorks Week festivities. NeighborWorks Week is an annual week of service that showcases how, together with residents, the NeighborWorks network strengthens communities. As a Chartered Member of NeighborWorks America, the AHA’s tradition has been to focus on a local neighborhood and bring together partners and staff for a day of volunteering and community building. This year’s event saw dozens of individuals enjoy a beautiful June day and helped usher in Summer for all the residents of the community. Read our recap here, and take a look at a few of the highlights below:

A MASSIVE 'Thank You!' Is In Order For Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo has generously awarded the AHA with $15,000 to support our housing programs! Due to the state of the housing market from threats including the economic impact of COVID-19, many homeowners, homebuyers, and tenants need supportive services to help identify ideal mortgage products as well as affordable housing opportunities during a time of need and limited supply.
These funds will be used to supplement gaps in grant funding for the AHA's housing services, including Home Buyer Counseling, Financial Coaching, Refinance Counseling, and assisting residents in applying for affordable housing. Thank you Wells Fargo!

This quarter’s Employee Spotlight features Jonathan Wade, one of the Affordable Housing Alliance’s shelter counselors. Working primarily out of the Monmouth County Emergency Adult Shelter for those experiencing a loss of housing, Jonathan focuses on maintaining the safety and well-being of residents, preparing and serving meals, assisting residents with housing and employment searches, and completing intakes for new residents referred to the AHA by Monmouth County Division of Social Services.
Jonathan was drawn to the AHA because of the positive reputation the agency has within the social services community, and in particular, our ability in assisting with the root causes of homelessness. Jonathan was working with another agency when an opportunity with the AHA became available, it was an easy transition for Jonathan and one he is grateful for each day. With the AHA, Jonathan is able to directly give back to the community and mentions passionately that the most rewarding part of it all is seeing someone successfully get into a safe housing situation.
Beginning all the way back in Philadelphia in the late 80s, Jonathan has dedicated his life to improving the lives of others. From working with at-risk youth and seniors to helping those experiencing a loss of housing, Mr. Wade has kept the well-being of others as a guiding principle that fits firmly within his philosophy on life…"be there and care."
The AHA is thrilled to have Jonathan on our team, and we look forward to many more years of giving back to our communities together.
