ALERT Launches SPARC Summer Webinar Series!
ALERT's free online summer webinar series, SPARC (Seminars to Promote ALERT Research and Collaboration), kicked off on June 24th!

The first webinar entitled, "On the fusion of X-ray data types for enhanced materials characterization" was presented by Professor Eric Miller (left) of Tufts University and principal investigator for ALERT Project R4-B.2 and Dr. Dan Strellis (right) of ALERT Industry Partner, Rapiscan Systems.

ALERT Researchers Matteo Rinaldi and Zhenyun Qian are awarded a $550K NSF Grant and patent
ALERT Researchers Professor Matteo Rinaldi (left) and Research Assistant Professor Zhenyun Qian (right) were awarded a $550K NSF grant for "Zero Power Wireless Flame Detector for Ubiquitous Fire Monitoring."

They were also awarded a patent for “Zero power plasmonic microelectromechanical device” in May 2020 which was the base technology development for their ALERT Project R2-B.3.

The Gordon Institute of Engineering Leadership (GIEL) is hosting a Virtual Information Session on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 5:30pm for talented engineering professionals interested in taking their careers to the next level by enhancing their leadership potential.
GIEL offers a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership as a stand-alone certificate or in combination with one of twenty Master of Science degrees offered through Northeastern’s College of Engineering, College of Science, or Khoury College of Computer Sciences.
Port of the Future Conference 2021 - Call for Panels
Panel Submissions Due September 15, 2020
The 2021 Port of the Future Conference seeks proposals for interactive panels on a variety of topics addressing emergent and future technology, current and projected research, policy and regulatory issues, workforce development, as well as present and developing threats and challenges.

The panels will be organized in tracks aligned to maritime (seaport), air (international airports), land (land ports of entry), and cyber domains.

NRC Research Associateship Programs

The National Academies administers NRC postdoctoral and senior research awards for 20 federal research agencies with locations throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Interested researchers can apply for opportunities at sponsoring federal labs and affiliated institutions with stipends ranging from $45,000-$83,000.
Transportation Security Laboratory Synthetic Data Post-Doc Opportunity!
The Transportation Security Laboratory is seeking applicants to participate in a new endeavor in synthetic data generation and testing. Applicants must have received or expect to complete all requirements for a Doctoral degree by their anticipated start date.
