APF Welcomes New Board Members

Each brings a wealth of experience on global affairs, U.S.-Pakistan relations, and community building that will strengthen the APF mission to build bridges, open minds, and empower communities. Shuja Nawaz
Shuja Nawaz is a political and strategic analyst who works on Pakistan and the Middle East and frequently advises government officials, civic organizations, and the media on global affairs. He is currently a distinguished fellow at the South Asia Center at the Atlantic Council. Mr. Nawaz was educated at Gordon College, Rawalpindi, Pakistan and the Graduate School of Journalism of Columbia University in New York. Read More
Ambassador Robin Raphel
Ambassador Robin L. Raphel is an expert in political, security, and economic development issues in South Asia and the Middle East. She is a former career Foreign Service officer who served for over four decades in the U.S. government, including as assistant secretary of state for South Asia, ambassador to Tunisia, vice president of the National Defense University, and deputy special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction. APF Webinar on Water Insecurity in Pakistan
On May 19, the American Pakistan Foundation and the Stimson Center hosted a discussion on water insecurity in Pakistan with Aisha Khan of the Civil Society Coalition for Climate Change; women's rights activist and climate change professional Simi Kamal, and Farwa Aamer, Research Analyst with the Stimson Center’s Energy, Water, & Sustainability program.
Short Film Competition for
American Filmmakers of Pakistani Heritage
The Pakistan Arts Council of Los Angeles and RINSTRA are pleased to announce a Short Film Competition featuring stories by Pakistani-American filmmakers. Through this opportunity, they hope to celebrate and encourage emerging American filmmakers of Pakistani backgrounds. The submission deadline is June 30, 2022. Learn More
