Along with celebrating our 15 year anniversary, we're announcing an enhanced mission statement that encompasses the great work we're collectively doing and reinforces our commitments to one another:


The American Pakistan Foundation (APF) empowers the Pakistani American community and its friends through fostering leadership, youth development and civic engagement, while building bridges between the people of the United States and Pakistan.

The American Pakistan Foundation has partnered with the Stimson Center South Asia Program (SAP) to offer a new fellowship opportunity. Our first fellow is Eman Kamil Omar, whom you can meet in the APF Fellows Annual Presentation detailed in our upcoming events below.


Under the guidance of Dr. Sahar Khan, Deputy Director of the Stimson SAP and an APF community member, fellows engage in critical exchange and open, objective inquiry of the power dynamics in and around Southern Asia.

The American Pakistan Foundation is excited to announce the Pakistani American Knowledge (PAK) Network, which is a Leadership Council-driven platform of podcasts and webinars on the APF YouTube channel.


The PAK Network mission is to integrate cultural exchange, leadership development, lifelong learning, community empowerment, and civic engagement initiatives to serve as a network of knowledge to empower, inform, and connect the Pakistani American community.

Prof. Saleem Ali on Forming a Green Minerals Trust

Dr. Saleem H. Ali, an APF Affiliate and a Blue and Gold Distinguished Professor of Energy and the Environment at the University of Delaware, presented a TED talk on the idea of a "Minerals Trust for the Green Transition" at the "Big Bets Salon" sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation.


Dr. Ali was invited to present at the TED World Theater headquarters in New York given his role as an alumnus of the Bellagio Residency with the Rockefeller Foundation, along with being a member of the United Nations International Resource Panel and also on the UN Secretary General's Advisory Board on Zero Waste.
