Where stories take the wheel and advocacy drives the change.

Lights, Camera, Advocacy!

It is our honor to spotlight a phenomenal visionary and unwavering ally of the Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) community. Leading with vision and purpose, Fatima Zehra is a powerhouse in global eye health, driven by purpose and compassion. Based in Pakistan, Fatima has spent over a decade transforming eye care systems with a fierce commitment to inclusion, innovation, and impact.

Fatima Zehra

Picture Description of Fatima Zehra: A poised woman sits attentively, holding a microphone in her hands. She wears a printed headscarf in soft shades of lavender and gray, wrapped gracefully around her head and neck. Her expression is composed and focused. She is dressed in a modest outfit with a brown outer layer, and pinned to her chest is a circular badge labeled “WLEH.” A lanyard is around her neck, and in the foreground, bright red flowers and green leaves partially obscure the left side of the image. The background consists of patterned tiles and a warm indoor setting.

Fatima’s journey began in 2013 as an optometrist in Karachi, but her passion quickly led her to lead national and international programs—ranging from diabetic retinopathy and childhood blindness to inclusive education and workforce development. With leadership roles at Sightsavers, Al Baseer Foundation, and the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust, Fatima has built groundbreaking models that have reached thousands across Pakistan’s most underserved communities.

Currently serving as Director of Programmes – Inclusive Health & Innovation at Vision HealthCare Foundation, Fatima is building a future where no one is left behind in access to vision care. From launching digital tools like the SEHRA assessment to mentoring rising health leaders, her work blends technology, advocacy, and heart.

Through every project and partnership, Fatima models what it means to lead with clarity, courage, and compassion. She reminds us that when we serve with intention, we don’t just improve systems; we ignite change. Fatima is building a world where no one is left unseen.

What the APP?

Don’t let BLINDNESS fool you; trust me, I count my money with 💵 Cash Reader 💵!

No more guessing bills at the checkout counter! Cash Reader instantly recognizes and announces currency denominations aloud, making it easy to identify money quickly and confidently. Whether you’re paying for coffee, catching a cab, or budgeting at home, this app puts independence right in the palm of your hand.

When it comes to my money, I make every dollar speak for itself! Because independence is priceless, but knowing my bills is power!

Inclusion Intersection

Blindness doesn’t limit us; it leads us to shine brighter than ever. Without further ado, we proudly introduce the ASPECT ADVOCATE Spotlight on Nicole Harris: Bold. Brilliant. Blind. And Unapologetically Baddie.

Picture Description of Nicole Harris: A woman with long black locs, some of which are decorated with colorful threads. She is wearing bold, purple eye makeup and matching lipstick. Her outfit features a geometric pattern with shades of pink, purple, and blue. She is posing in front of a plain light-colored background and smiling gently.

Nicole Harris isn’t just making noise; she’s making moves. As the founder of Love The Hope Project, she built a digital nonprofit rooted in self-reliance, community, and unapologetic visibility for blind and low vision individuals. She doesn’t just share words — she equips, guides, and activates others to rise with confidence. Through the Blind Content Creator Collective, she mentors and mobilizes creators with the tools they need to shine online.

With more than 5,000 videos across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, Nicole is redefining what it means to be a storyteller with sight loss. Whether she’s leading viral workshops or organizing Disneyland’s first-ever White Cane Awareness Day, she proves that advocacy can be both powerful and joyful.

Nicole is a speaker who transforms rooms, a mentor who plants confidence, and the author of Beautiful Accomplice, a work that amplifies resilience and truth. She also serves as an accessibility tester for the world’s leading tech giants, ensuring that innovation includes every user.

Above all, Nicole is a generational advocate who blazes trails so others don’t have to fight the same battles. She doesn’t just inspire change — she is the change.

  Faith Over Fear Freeway

Faith Mack

Picture Description of Faith Mack: A confident Black woman with short hair and clear-rimmed glasses stands against a beige wall, wearing a gray T-shirt and a calm, focused expression with a friendly smile.

We’re thrilled to celebrate a woman whose name speaks volumes—Faith Mack. She is not just a survivor; she’s a true double scoop of strength, blending Blindness Awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness into one powerful testimony of courage and purpose.

Faith was born premature with a detached retina in her right eye and severe nearsightedness in her left. Living life partially blind wasn’t something she chose, but she chose to rise with it. Adaptation became her superpower, and independence became her mission.

Her journey of empowerment was elevated when she connected with the National Federation of the Blind – Connecticut Chapter. Through their community, she found more than resources—she found herself. She discovered tools, accessible apps, and most importantly, a tribe of advocates who reminded her that blindness doesn’t dim your light; it redirects it.

But just as she found her rhythm, life threw another challenge. In March 2017, Faith was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. While others would’ve broken, she became bolder. Through surgeries, chemotherapy, and complications, she relied on resilience, faith, and a few unexpected angels in her support circle. And seven years later, her experience became someone else’s survival guide. She continues to advocate, inspire, and serve, because walking by faith means never walking alone.
