The Express: December 2025

This issue of The Express highlights the following new and updated resources:

This year, ASPR TRACIE celebrated our 10th anniversary, and as 2025 draws to a close, we would like to thank you for an incredibly meaningful decade. It has been a true honor to capture and share your experiences, to learn from your innovative and timely practices, and to work closely with many of you on developing and refreshing our resources. In this Public Health Storytelling podcast recording, Rachel Lehman (our Acting Director) celebrates this milestone and shares how ASPR TRACIE provides states and territories with timely information and technical assistance (TA).

We wish you a peaceful holiday season and look forward to learning from and supporting you in 2026 and beyond. As always, reach out to us if you need TA or have a resource to share.

New Chapters in the Hospital Readiness and Response Online Guidebook

We recently posted three new chapters of our guidebook including the Burn Mass Casualty chapter, which lists considerations such as supplies, training and exercises, and care coordination/transfer for hospital emergency managers to address in their plans for treating burn patients. The Family Support chapter describes the challenges and strategies associated with providing family support processes onsite immediately after a mass casualty incident. The Information Technology Failures and Cyber Incidents chapter concentrates on the impact of system downtime and includes considerations for systems mapping, mitigation, response, and recovery. Access these and the rest of the chapters in the Hospital Readiness and Response Online Guidebook for more information.
