The effects of COVID-19, the corresponding recovery, and the emergence of advanced air mobility will contribute to a growing shortage of qualified aviation maintenance technicians. The integration of emerging technologies will create workforce development and employment opportunities across the globe. Authors give a high-level overview of these new technologies and recommendations for revising aircraft mechanic standards and associated training curriculum to meet the increased need.
