Spring 2024, Vol 46, Issue No. 1
In This Issue
This Spring issue of the ATEC Journal brings you two academic pieces from aviation maintenance instructors. One focusing on insights from students on what drew them into a career in aviation maintenance and the other on adapting teaching methods to meet the change in students' dominant learning styles. We are also pleased to present the reader with an opinion piece from a collaboration of two organizations working to promote careers in aviation to the K-12 audience.
Happy AMT Day!
May 24, 1868 was the birthday of Charles Taylor, an Indiana hog farmer who became the first airplane mechanic. Congress declared May 24 National Aviation Maintenance Technician Day to honor him and the AMTs who followed in his footsteps. Regarded as the father of aviation maintenance, Charles Edward Taylor has become a hero to aircraft maintenance technicians worldwide.

In honor of Aviation Maintenance Technician Day, we've collected materials and resources from our members that can be used in the classroom to commemorate the efforts of aviation maintenance professionals and the achievements of Charles Taylor. You can see those here.
