A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Dear College of Arts and Sciences Faculty and Staff,

Welcome to the Fall 2023 edition of The Accolade. As always, there are many more accomplishments across our college than we can possibly capture in one email. However, below you’ll find examples of faculty awards and recognitions, spotlights from selected Southern Miss press releases and media coverage, and Points of Pride from across the college. As you’ll see, the faculty and staff of our college continue to have an outsized impact on their disciplines and their students.

As we close out another semester and enter the holiday season, I hope that you find time to rest and recharge. The work that you do makes a real difference in the lives and futures of our students, but it often can be taxing and stressful. I wish that I could share the perspective that I see as I congratulate students walking across the stage at commencement. Their faces express their gratitude and sense of accomplishment far better than I ever could. So, thank you for what you do, and know that their futures are better because of the work that you do.
