"A picture (or a meme) is worth a thousand words." -Confucius

The competition launched on Friday, July 28, and users from around the world will upload their very best pro-Israel memes. And, anyone can vote on their favorites starting Thursday, August 3.

This newsletter also includes an article Adam penned to illustrate the dangers of the rising New anti-Semitism, and how we can work to combat it. The 20th century began with a series of pogroms targeting Jews that swept across Eastern Europe and Latin America, the most infamous of which was in Kishinev, Russia.

What was the lesson that Bialik and others took from Kishinev? The Jewish People can’t rely on others to protect us. We must fight antisemitism head-on.

We must make clear that anti-Semitic ideology often masquerades itself in a more politically correct form of anti-Israel hatred. We must push anti-Semitism out of the mainstream and into the shadows where it belongs.

Most students in the San Fernando Valley can’t hop on a plane and go to Israel tomorrow. But, thanks to a new program, now they can come close. With the Virtually Israel VR experience, Hillel 818 is turning Israel’s most famous sites into students’ favorite sights.

Virtually Israel’s virtual reality goggles transport students around the world from their campus to Tel Aviv’s port, the Old City of Jerusalem, and more.

Thanks to the support of the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation, Israel advocates on campus have regular access to these  goggles, which help to engage their peers in a unique way. With the goggles, Jewish participants view the land of Israel in multiple dimensions—and by showing them a taste of Israel, students are signing up to see the real thing through Birthright. These goggles are also a highlight at popular events, enjoyed by students from all faiths and backgrounds.

Hillel 818 serves over 6,000 Jewish students on campus at California State University Northridge, Pierce College, LA Valley College, and throughout the San Fernando Valley.

The Mission of  The Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation  ("MFF") is to strengthen the State of Israel, the homeland of the Jewish People, and its special ties with the United States of America; and to ensure the special affinity to the State of Israel of the young and future Jewish generations.
