Dear Friends & Neighbors,

Good day from your favorite resident realtor team, Cherie & Larry Gross with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Florida Realty, a team and company you can always depend upon, "The Power of Two."

We wish you ALL a very safe and HAPPY HOLIDAY!

Thank you for supporting us! The best compliment we could receive is for you to refer us to your friends, family and co-workers.  We are never too busy for our clients and their affiliates and thank you in advance!

This week is our 400 th Addison Reserve Buzz. A little less than 8 years ago, one of our fellow realtors came up with the idea of making a video and sending it out to our residents as well as other country club members. We thought that was ingenious and decided to try to come up with an idea that would separate us from other realtors but not copy his idea, and our "Buzz" was born. Over the years our "Buzz" has grown from it's infancy into a full time job. Our reward is the enthusiasm  and compliments of our readers, and we thank you for that. Imitation might be flattering, but originality speaks volumes for oneself. At first, we started by getting e-mails from anyone we were currently working with and just kept adding to the list as the years went by. As of now, our list is a little over 10,000 e-mail addresses and each and every week, more than 5,000 readers open our "Buzz" and many more on Facebook. It seems that many enjoy what we are reporting. Over the past 7 plus years of our "Buzz," we have only missed 3 weeks of reporting, one time due to a little health issue Larry had, and the other two, during our limited vacations.  Three misses in 400 weeks, not bad! We hope you keep enjoying our weekly publications and feel free to make suggestions or respond whichever way pleases you.

Our rain has continued, but not as much and certainly not as loud as in the past few week. What we do have is heat, tropical heat, and lots of it! Remember, this is the summer time in Florida, what else would one expect? What we don't expect, is seeing northerners come down to escape the heat from Chicago to New York. Summer temperatures reached well over 100 degrees, with a heat index of over 110, but not here. We were hot, but only in the high 80's to low 90's, cool compared to our northern residents. Who would believe?

Friday night was again Styr at its best. We dined outside of the club, but as we often do, after dinner, we met our friends and neighbors at Styr for coffee and desserts. As always, we enjoyed the music of a duo consisting of a women with a voice like a jazz angle, accompanied by a very talented young man on the piano with electronics that were equal to most big bands. Everyone seemed to enjoyed their music tremendously and of course, Styr did the rest with offerings of food, drinks and the friendly membership of Addison Reserve residents, always the place to be.

Saturday evening we dined at Taste, our main dining room, at Addison Reserve. The evening began by meeting our friends at Styr for drinks and hors d'oeuvres, then we adjourned to the dining room. The lamb chops were out of this world and the pasta was yummy  as well. The meals always come with a salad and 2 sides, all very filling. Service was great, as usual, a totally enjoyable dining experience, as always.

Horace Cohen was spotted saving a turtle that was sure to get run over on our golf course the other day.  Like Superman, Horace jumped into action and saved the day!

Friday afternoon we were scheduled to have a little golf competiton at the range. Josh, our recently married golf professional, waited patiently for the skies to clear and the threat of rain to subside, so the fun could begin. Sadly, although we had quite a few women and men ready to compete, the weather won. Next week, we'll try again.

Happy July 4th to America and all of us who are fortunate enough to live in the greatest country in the world. With July 4th comes games and barbecues and fireworks. Here at Addison Reserve we have two thirds of that. Under sunny skies and temperatures in the high 80's, our membership enjoyed a step aside golf tournament. 52 members participated in a truly HEATED format. A breakfast was included to strengthen them for the 18 hole grind later to be followed by a lavish lunch. It was a great tournament as always with Frank, one of our golf professionals, joining each team at #3 on Trepidation. Teams were given the choice of using his drive or one of their own. Usually, not a tough decision. Also, that morning there was a round robin tennis tournament as well as a round robin pickleball tournament. The courts were full and everyone had a great time. While all this was happening on the course and courts, our July 4th barbecue was also going on. Many members enjoyed a festive patriotic All American poolside barbecue while finishing off the day with a cool and well deserved swim. A great day at Addison!
As is our custom here in Addison, it wouldn't be the same without a typical Addison styled 4th of July Dinner. Everyone dressed in their Red, White & Blue and enjoyed what Addison does best, have a great time with members and families. God Bless America. Next year we want fireworks!!!!!!
The pictures below were taken at the Delray Beach Club, one of our reciprocals. It was there that we watched the Delray Beach fireworks live and we were entertained by
Broadway singer, Every Sommers, who preformed in Ain't Misbehaving.

Not too much action at Buttonwood Park
