Friday evening again, 'Styr" was the place to be. This week though, we decided to do a little something different. We went to Styr at around 6:30, about 30 minutes later than we normally start our Friday evenings. We decided to start our evening in the casual atmosphere of our "Styr Lounge", enjoying some light conversations and drinks with a few of our fellow members, and then continue our evening in "Taste", for a more elegant dining experience. By combining both venues for an evening, we had the best of all worlds Addison has to offer. Styr was amazing with the hors d'oeuvres, music, dancing and laughter. Taste was the fine dining experience we needed after a busy week of work! It couldn't have been a better experience.

St. Patrick's Day was celebrated throughout our country this past Sunday and Addison couldn't and wouldn't let this occasion be missed by our membership. We all celebrated in "Taste" with a truly Irish flare when it came to color, dress & flavor for the holiday. Many members wore green, some more than others! The beer was also flowing throughout the evening. All who came enjoyed the evening immensely.

ANNUAL MEETING

At 5:30 PM Addison Reserve met for their yearly Town Hall Meeting. There was a large turnout, as always, and an update of all our affairs were presented. We discussed finances, the new construction, future
concerns
, the Addison Family that we are very fortunate to have, and also the future redecorating of our clubhouse with Interior Designs by Foda. Naturally, Dinner & Refreshments were served afterwards in Styr.

FUDGE CAKE WITH GANACHE AND BUTTERCREAM ICING
1 1/2 CUPS BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS
1/2 CUP BUTTER , SOFTENED
1 1-LB. PKG LIGHT BROWN SUGAR.
3 LARGE EGGS
2 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR, PLUS MORE FOR PANS
1 TSP. BAKING SODA
1/2 TSP. SALT
1/2 TSP. GROUND CINNAMON
1 8 OZ. PKG CONTAINER SOUR CREAM
1 CUP STRONG BREWED OR INSTANT COFFEE
1 TBSP. BOURBON
CARAMEL BUTTERCREAM
1 CUP GRANULATED SUGAR
1/3 CUP WATR
1/3 CUP HEAVY CREAM
1/4 CUP BUTTER, CHILLED AND CUT INTO 1/2 INCH PIECES
1 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
4 OZ PKG. CREAM CHEESE, SOFTENED
1/2. TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
1/4 TSP. SALT
4 CUPS UNSIFTED POWDERED SUGAR DIVIDED IN 2.
CHOCOLATE GANACHE
8 OZ. SEMISWEET BAKING CHOCOLATE. (2 4OZ BARS)
6 OZ. BITTERSWEET BAKING CHOCOLATE (1 1/2) OF 40Z BARS.) KEEP BALANCE FOR SHAVINGS.
1 1/2 CUPS OF HEAVY CREAM
PREPARE FUDGE CAKE.
1. Coat 2- 9 inch square cake pans with cooking spray and dust with flour.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Place chocolate chips in micro bowl and melt about 2 minutes, stopping every
30 seconds to stir, make completely smooth.
2. Beat butter and brown sugar in stand mix on Med about 5 min. Add eggs 1 at
a
time, beating until just combined. Add melted chocolate chips until just combined.
3. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in bowl. Gradually add to melted-chocolate m
ixture alternating with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture, beating on low
speed until just blended after each addition.
Gradually add coffee, then bourbon until combined.
Pour batter evenly into prepared cake pans.
4. Bake Cake layers in preheated oven until a wooden toothpick comes out clean 22-25 min.
Cool in pans on racks 15 minutes. Remove from pans transfer to wire rack to cool completely
1 hours. May be made ahead 1 day. Wrap cool in saran carefully, put in frig. I sprayed saran s
o it wouldn't stick to cake.
5.PREPARE CARAMEL CREAM. Place granulated sugar and water in small saucepan and
c
ook stirring often over med-high heat until sugar dissolves about 1 min. Then cook without
stirring
only swirling occasionally until mixture is deep amber in color, about 10 min.
Remove from heat, and immediately add cream in a thin steady stream, stirring constantly with a
w
ooden spoon. Stir in chilled butter until mixture is smooth. Transfer to a small bowl and cool to
r
oom temperature.
6. Beat soften butter and cream cheese in bowl of stand mixer on med speed until creamy 3 min.
Stir in vanilla
and salt. Gradually add 2 cups of powder sugar on low speed till smooth.
Add cooled caramel beat med speed 2 minutes to combine. Gradually add remaining 2 cups of powder sugar on low speed.
7. PREPARE GANACHE.
Place broken semisweet and bitter sweet chocolate pieces and cream i
n microwave bowl. Micro 1 minute. Remove and stir carefully for 1 minute. Do this FOUR times,
EVERY 30 SECONDS.
Chocolate will be smooth and shiny after last stirring. STIR MORE IF YOU HAVE TO. Cool.
8. ASSEMBLE.
Place 1 cooled cake on serving platter, pour 1/2 Ganache, allow to drip over sides.
Put in freezer till set about 10 minutes. Dollop with Buttercream.
Top with remaining cake and repeat.
Garnish with shaved chocolate.
