Rainy season is here and boy did it start with a wallop. Saturday afternoon, somewhere around 2;00, the skies turned dark as if it was 9:00 at night and all hell broke loose. The skies opened up and the lighting was all around and of course, followed by thunder that shook the card rooms and made all the players jump a startled jump. It lasted for about 30 minutes and then left as quickly as it appeared. The weather was ominous throughout the afternoon, but nothing like that 2:00 storm. The same results occurred on Sunday, but not as badly as before. This is our rainy season, get use to it. It will last until August and then, paradise will return to normalcy and the world will again be jealous of our climate, and well they should be.

Friday nights at "Styr," always a happening at our club, is an absolute favorite, especially on the 1st Friday of every month, "Happy Hour" for our membership. Drinks are half price and as aways, the drinks are generous, to say the least. The hors d'oeuvres are always a hit, but during "Happy Hour" night, they are especially good. This weeks choices featured chopped liver, nova salmon and cream cheese in addition to pigs in the blanket and delectable meatballs. The cheese selection is wonderful and the crudites was plentiful. In addition to the hors d'oeuvres and drinks, we were also treated to some talent from our members and guests for Karaoke, or should we say lack of talent. But nevertheless, our contributors had fun.

WHAT SHOULD ONE DO ON A MISERABLE RAINY EVENING?
Saturday night was
definitely
rainy! What to do??? We had the perfect place to go where we wouldn't have to get wet... from our garage to the front of the Addison Reserve Clubhouse, with it's large overhang, and then into "Styr" and subsequently to the main dining room, "Taste." What a wonderful and dry idea! When we arrived, there were already many neighbors with the same
brilliant
idea. "Styr" was our first stop, where several people were already watching the beginning of the Belmont Stakes race. Everyone ordered drinks and had an appetizer or two before we moved on to "Taste." Our new Chef Peter was walking around introducing himself and making sure that everything was perfect. We discussed our new Lifestyle menu and he even recommended a new tasty dish called Tuna Poke, which sounded great, hence we ordered it. Dinner was delicious! It turned out to be a magnificent evening
despite
the weather!

Chef Dana Competes on the Food Network's Wedding Cake Championship
Chef Dana and her teammate continued on to the next round in the competition for the $25,000 grand prize and the title of Wedding Cake Champion on
Monday, June 10 at 10:00pm
on the Food Network. Here is what happened!
This was designed by Dana & her baking companion for the top of the wedding cake, called "The Topper." Obviously the wedding couple are musicians.

Cherie Gross was visiting her daughter in Boston and came across this incredibly busy cow to fresh ice cream farm in Middletown, Mass. Wow was it good and creamy! What a business........ from 9 AM to 10 PM every day for the past 300 years.

Zachery Ross, front middle, Grandson of Cherie & Larry Gross, left for sleep away camp for the very first time. He met other campers on Sunday morning all flying out of Fort Lauderdale Airport in route to Georgia, destination, Camp Blue Ridge. We wish him a wonderful summer!

We know we may be bragging about our grandchildren a lot, but we can't help it. This is Jaxson, another one of Larry & Cherie's grandsons, and he can now, at the tender age of 5, ride a 2 wheeler with no training wheels and build jets and trains with Legos.
