Join us at the Chamber's monthly Emerging Issues Forum for an important update from Jayme Timberlake, Coastal Zone Administrator for the City of Oceanside.
With nearly four miles of coastline, the beach is a way of life in the City of Oceanside. The City’s new Coastal Zone Program aims to responsibly manage our coastal resources to benefit the community, while improving our natural habitat and resiliency against coastal storms and rising seas. Coastal ecosystems in Oceanside include sandy beaches, estuaries, kelp forests, groins and jetty reefs, associated pelagic organisms and, of course, people. Sustaining these ecosystems is critical to ocean health, while also supporting human society.

This in-person meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the El Corazon Event Center, located at 3306 Senior Center Drive. The purpose of the meeting is to answer your questions and gather your input. Staff and the project architect will be present to provide an overview of the proposed facility. More information

New El Corazon Park Planning
Source - City of Oceanside) - The El Corazon Specific Plan includes nine park sites at the City property in the heart of Oceanside. Park Site 1 will be the first park area to be developed, and public input is being collected on concepts and design options. A recommended option will be brought to the Parks and Recreation Commission, and then to the City Council for review and approval. We'd love your input! Please take a brief survey on the two concepts and provide your thoughts by March 12.

California Competes Tax Credit

The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California. Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for over $180 million available in tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. Applicants will be analyzed based on twelve different factors of evaluation, including number of full-time jobs being created, amount of investment, and strategic importance to the state or region.

Josh Williams will cover this year’s North County Indicators Report, showing where North County is doing well and areas where we have opportunities to lead.
