The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Forum provides an avenue for Oceanside Chamber members to learn about key issues relating to Oceanside's relationship with Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and the servicemembers serving on the base.  This month's speaker will be Col Daniel Whitley providing an update on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton activities. This meeting is open to all Oceanside Chamber members and invited guests only, and will be held the second Thursday of the month (odd numbered months), from 8am to 9:00am in the Oceanside Chamber conference room.

On August 11, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Oceanside Chamber will hold its 14th Annual North County Health & Wellness Fair. This event provides an opportunity for local health & wellness related businesses to promote their products and services and provide demonstrations for community members.


The North County Health Fair is FREE to the public and a great way to receive information, meet a new health specialist, or learn more about healthy living. Located at the beautiful Oceanside Civic Center Plaza, the North County Health Fair will run concurrently with the popular Downtown Farmer's Market. SOCAL Business Spotlight: City of Oceanside Water Utilities | Utilites Worker


Meet Jonathan Monterozza, Utilities Worker II, who tells us all about his role with the City of Oceanside Water Utilities Department. A utilities worker performs a variety of duties in the construction, installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of the City’s water transmission and distribution systems including water mains, service lines, water meters, hydrants, and related equipment and facilities. Jonathan was able to start this job right out of high school. Learn more with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Water and Wastewater Competency Model.

City of Oceanside Community Forum

Farmland Conservation Easements

On the evening of July 13th, the City’s Planning Division will host a community forum on farmland conservation strategies, with emphasis on approaches to acquiring farmland conservation easements. The forum will include presentations from experts in the land conservation field, followed by an open house that will allow participants to engage directly with these experts. The forum is primarily meant to inform the implementation of a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction measure outlined in the City’s Climate Action Plan. This emissions reduction measure calls upon the City to leverage California’s Sustainable Agriculture Land Conservation (SALC) program to facilitate the acquisition of farmland conservation easements in South Morro Hills. The forum will also provide additional context for the South Morro Hills Community Plan.

Job Killer Update: 3 Bills Remain as Legislators Begin Summer Break

Strong opposition from the CalChamber helped to stop one job killer bill from advancing, while amendments have removed the most onerous aspects of another job killer bill and the job killer tag will be removed.

MEA's mission is to assist Marines seeking transition assistance from active-duty or reserve/retired status, leaving the Corps at the end of obligated service, or moving from one civilian career to another. Oceanside Planners Approve Plans for Tri-City’s New Psychiatric Facility


(Source: The Coast News Group) - After years of talks and planning, Tri-City Medical Center’s new psychiatric facility is one step closer to fruition. The city’s Planning Commission on June 13 unanimously approved development plans and a conditional use permit for the new 16-bed psychiatric care facility. The facility will be a single-story building approximately 14,400 square feet in size located in a quiet area away from the hospital’s main campus on a 3.77-acre lot in the northwest corner of the hospital’s overall 35.57-acre property in Oceanside.
