Greetings Folks ~
Coming off a wildly successful summer conference, your leadership and management teams are excited to spill some tea. First, congrats to all the newly installed Directors to our Board and Junior Board. Ditto the graduates of the Future Leaders class. These hardworking and ambitious folks are bound to leave their marks on the industry, and we are proud to be part of that!
As we turn the page to a new fiscal year, I want to share my optimism about what lies ahead. Our organization has never been more energized to tackle challenges, drive innovation, and support the firms and individuals who make up our strong and diverse engineering community. This year, we are placing a sharp focus on reducing our reliance on traditional revenue sources such as member dues and events. To that end, we are exploring new initiatives to diversify our income streams—including strategic partnerships, expanded sponsorship programs, and consulting services that will strengthen our long-term sustainability.
One of our most important investments this year is in people—specifically, in the development of our middle management professionals. We’ll be rolling out a robust suite of training programs designed to equip middle managers with the tools, skills, and leadership mindset necessary to advance in their careers. From building-the-business-basics to soft skills and mentoring networks to diving in on AI, we’ll be identifying these much-needed areas of expertise. These programs will be tailored to help our members thrive in today’s dynamic business environment while preparing them to take on greater responsibilities tomorrow.
Finally, we’re deepening our collaboration with state agencies and public partners to ensure our members have a stronger voice in shaping policy and infrastructure priorities. Through regular engagement, shared initiatives, and joint planning efforts, we’re building relationships that lead to more meaningful outcomes for our firms and the communities they serve. This new fiscal year represents not just a continuation of our mission—but an acceleration of it. I look forward to the progress we’ll make together.
