Message from the Dean

November was a month full of celebration, connection, and gratitude for the College of Engineering. We had a phenomenal time during Homecoming week, where it was wonderful to see our alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends come together to celebrate the Aggie spirit and the continued growth of our college.

We also welcomed members of the Dean's Advisory Council for productive discussions on how we can continue strengthening our programs, recruitment, retention, research, and the practical application of artificial intelligence. Their insight and commitment play a vital role in shaping the future and curriculum of engineering education at NMSU.

David Jáuregui, Ph.D.

Interim Dean

Another exciting highlight was the construction celebration for the replacement of Thomas and Brown Hall, where we had the opportunity to thank the many donors, state officials, and voters who made this project possible. The celebration included remarks from President Valerio Ferme, Interim Provost Lakshmi Reddi, and, in a special surprise, NMHED Secretary Stephanie Rodriguez – each underscoring the statewide importance of this transformational project through their presence and support. During the celebration, our donors were invited to stamp their names into a commemorative concrete panel that will be incorporated into the project – a symbol of their support for the College of Engineering.

We were also proud to recognize 2025 Distinguished Alumni Honoree Frank Kozeliski for his exceptional contributions to the engineering profession and unwavering dedication to the college and NMSU. Finally, our annual Scholarship Breakfast was one to remember! It was wonderful to see familiar faces and to witness donors connecting directly with the students whose lives they impact. The event featured a video that captured the heart of this celebration. You can watch it below.

Thank you all for being part of this incredible community and for the continued support that drives our success. Go Aggies!
