Message from the Dean

Welcome to a new academic year! We are delighted to see our returning Aggies back on campus and to extend a warm welcome to our new students joining the College of Engineering. As you settle into the semester, I encourage you to stay on schedule with assignments, projects, and class attendance. Take advantage of faculty office hours and remain engaged through Canvas and Navigate.

Support is always available. Along with campus-wide initiatives, the College offers peer tutoring through the Eloy Torrez Family Learning Communities in Engineering, where fellow students can help you navigate challenges. Our faculty are also committed to your success, continually enhancing their teaching and mentoring through professional development opportunities.

David Jáuregui, Ph.D.

Interim Dean

I am also pleased to share some important updates. Congratulations to Dr. Laura Boucheron, recipient of the 2025 Donald C. Roush Award for Teaching Excellence. And on the facilities front, significant construction progress has been made: pile foundations are being drilled for the new facility replacing Thomas and Brown Hall, and steel frames are being erected for the expansion of the Aggie Innovation Space. These projects will soon provide transformative spaces for learning and innovation.

As the semester unfolds, don’t hesitate to reach out for help – whether with coursework, projects, or planning your future. We are here to support you every step of the way, and we look forward to a successful year ahead. Go Aggies!
